·Hi all,
For your consideration I have an Omega Megasonic watch, reference 198.0065 with caliber 1220. The caliber 1220 was first introduced in 1973 and designed by Max Hetzel, designer of the Accutron. It has an asymmetric tuning fork that resonates at 720 Hz instead of the more normal 300 Hz and a micromotor. The micromotor consists of an oil filled sealed box where a wheel is mounted on four rubies. When the fork vibrates, this wheel bounces off two opposite ruby springs.
This watch underwent a lengthy and expensive service in October 2018 and is now running within chronometer specs. The work was done at Budget Accutron Repair Service in Michigan - service receipt will be included.
The watch overall is in excellent condition with sharp, unpolished 35 mm case and beautiful silver sunburst dial. The lume on the hands and dial has aged to a pleasant yellow color. Original crown. There are some small scuffs on the caseback, which can be seen in the photos. This watch is being sold head only.
For this Megasonic, I am asking $750 with free shipping in the United States. International deals are welcome with shipping at cost to buyer. Transferwise is preferred for international payments. Returns only considered if the watch is misrepresented. I have lots of positive feedback on OF if you search by my username in the Seller Profile section. Thanks for looking and thank you OF for the space!
