Please help me with this one. I recently bought this Omega cal. 30T2 with serial indicating manufacturing date around 1939. There’s Skoda logo engraved on back case. Does anyone have any info regarding if it could be issued for Skoda workers?

Skoda used this logo between 1926 and 1995 when it changed. Very interesting logo-history-m48-logo-04.545cb10ed52eb46375c4f3c258f9c9e6.fill-1290x460.jpg

Thanks for this thread.

That adds a bit of extra interest to a neato watch.

I wonder if it was some kind of anniversary issued piece for Skoda worker or someone just engraved case back from love to his old Skoda 😉
SN indicates WWII period so seems doubtful to me that in this time they were making such gifts.

Škoda were among the largest armament manufacturers in the 1930s and probably making huge profits, so some celebratory engraving for their executives and salespeople would be understandable.

"The production volume of Skoda Works between August 1938 and September 1939 alone was nearly equal to that of all British arsenal factories in that period."

Be aware guys that not only car manufacturer Skoda was/is present here in the CZ. Could be from one of other Skoda factories (and they were not related to each other). The logo was almost the same for all Skoda factories.

Thanks guys. So I assume that there’s great possibility it could be issued to Skoda at around 1939. EOA would be very helpful to be sure 😀
