Tissot: not sure there is a vintage brand more under-stated & under-rated

I agree and your two examples are spectacular. Tissot is the watch brand that always stuck to me as a kid due to their advertising association with sports timing and car racing. They always had a "cool" factor about them.

Not agree with you, Tissot are unreliable with a poor quality and ugly look.
Still selling it for peanuts, no one will buy it otherwise.....馃槈

Don't remember if I have already posted my Lemania based addiction

What do you guys think of this? Haven't seen a Seastar with the PR516 Pulsations bezel before. And the right subdial hand?? Is it possible this came from Tissot like that or just wrong bezel installation and hand?

Iam not sure about this one, never saw this combination. I suppose it is a wrong installation.

Last entry to complete my Tissot chrono lemania based collection.
Ref 40506 with Movement 871, lemania 1281 hopefully not to much polished.

CROWN and CRYSTAL ...

Original TISSOT CROWN measures @ 6.35 mm
Original Plexi Crystal with inner Tachymeter measures @ 36.1 mm

Hey all, great to see so much love for the vintage Tissots! I'm getting increasingly interested, especially in chronographs from the Lemania (1341, 872) era.

I'm currently looking into options for restoring a 45501. Following some previous questions and advice on this thread, can I ask if anyone knows how or where to source an inner tachymetre bezel for the 45501? Failing that, are there any Omega models (most likely the 176.XXX seamaster models) that have an inner bezel that would fit as a replacement? TIA!

thanks for your feedback.
When I was reading Tissot serial numbers I knew I was missing something obvious... well, it is a Lemania indeed! 馃榾

New acquisition: a 1975ish Tissot-Meylan in the 815 case, powered by a Lemania 872. It's kissing-cousin to that rarest of Tissots, the 817 Military Navigator (civilian version of the Viggen & SAAF Lemanias).

Couldn't agree more! If anyone has a really ugly or unreliable Navigator with the Lemania 1347 or 872 movements, they should sell them immediately . . . to me . . . for peanuts. 馃槤

Has anyone ever seen a Tissot watch from the 1940s with the Skoda logo on the lid? Is this the original ?

Sometimes we see brand logo on dial but as far as I remember I've never seen like this on the caseback.
But I will never says that I have seen everything....
Any pics of the inside caseback ?

An original caseback from that period will have the Tissot shield and a serial number on the inside. The outside caseback would normally be smooth with no markings. I would guess that your watch was some sort of presentation watch, specially engraved with a company logo and presented to a longtime employee in recognition of service to the firm.
