that price is way too good to be true if the piece is actually legit and totally original.

That was my first thought too. I also wrote the seller in case he has more information about the history of the watch.

The OMEGA on the dial isn’t right. It’s a really nice redial, but it’s a redial.

This was sold on eBay in the past few months:

serial #12591021, another 381 movement

I doubt if the case material isn't 18k, it looks ok from that standpoint. Nothing would raise a flag to say it isn't gold. The dial has definitely been redone/touched up, but a reasonably good job. If you know the dial isn't completely original, and if the redial is well done, I'm not one of those that rejects it out of hand. The price is good for what the watch is, a pretty attractive Cosmic. Too many people get hung up if the watch isn't 100% all original and never seen more than a light touch with a Selvyt cloth. These items were made to be used, and they were, there are very few that have existed untouched and in stellar condition.

As previously noted the OMEGA is way off, there is no question in my mind OPs watch is a redial and as I noted previously the case is not one I've seen from a SWISS maker...

Here is one of MSNs from a previous post for dial comparison.

Thanks for the research. About the case, I have found a few ones with the same one, so I hope that should not be an issue:

However, this one also has the same OMEGA font as the one I am currently looking at. Is this a redial too then?

Several examples on the web of this one - same case and same dial and hands. Not familiar with it but might take a chance on this one if the price was right.

Just to get this thread on the right tracks...
MAR MAR Is mardi / mars for Tuesday / March in French.
SAB LUG Is sabato / luglio for Saturday / July in Italian.

I also was able to find another Cosmic like the OP’s on Chrono24.

Same dial, case and hallmarks, but different serial number and engraving on the back.

The buckles are even similar.

However, these do not look like early 1950’s style Omega buckles.

I think there is a lot more research that needs to be done on these.

Base metal is the movement spacer. Not the case.

Yes, clearly a spacer, and I suspect the movement comes out the front on this one.

And just because the question about the buckle came up, here is an image of the one that would come with the watch:

Does that look like a 50's buckle?

No, that's 1960s, certainly not contemporary to the watch.

Hmm, do you think that Omegas extracts from the archives would give clarity about this topic? Or what source i could use to deepen my research about this? I already tried to find old omega advertising to see if the case and dial can be found anywhere.

No. The extract will confirm only the case reference, date of delivery to a wholesaler and country of delivery.

Your best best is eBay and other auction house completed item listings.

Oscar Madison:
I can't take it anymore, Felix, I'm cracking up. Everything you do irritates me. And when you're not here, the things I know you're gonna do when you come in irritate me. You leave me little notes on my pillow. Told you 158 times I can't stand little notes on my pillow. "We're all out of cornflakes. F.U." Took me three hours to figure out F.U. was Felix Ungar!
