Could it be an English case? That one stamp looks like the 750 stamp with scales at each end

An English case would not have a Helvetia mark which is the Swiss 18K hallmark.

I would love to be wrong but I think these cases are elaborate fakes.

I’m going to go out in a limb with a very strange theory on these.

There are now 3 separate pieces with different (case) serial numbers and identical hallmarks, along with different logo dials than we are use to seeing on these older Cosmics.

The Hodinkee example has a link to an Italian seller. On that website there is a picture of the purported original box and papers:

The box has what looks to be a 1970’s or 1980’s Omega logo, which matches the ones on the dial of all three examples. I wish I could see the printing on the papers. From my experience, most original papers from the early 1950’s were handwritten by the AD’s as opposed to stamped, but there are always exceptions.

Does anyone know if Omega did some sort of later re-issue of these Cosmics, with original NOS movements? Omega did this with some cal. 269 movements in 1994, and more recently with cal. 321 Speedmaster movements.

Does this make any sense at all?

The case is very peculiar, the movement is legit and the dials could be Omega service or just redials from frankenmeisters.

I wouldn’t touch one of these without an extract.

oh I dunno. I think if I was to find a clean snazzy looking omega triple date moonphase in a solid 18k gold case for $1500 I could be pretty gullible 😁

I found one more example online, but other than that my research has pretty much not led to any other insights:

https://www.vintagegoldwatches.com/product/omega-cosmic-triple-date-moonphase-18k-1953/

What I find quite particular is that all of these are in a remarkable condition and i also noticed that the date hand for the two models that are sold on Chrono both show a sloppy paint job:

for https://www.chrono24.de/omega/calendar-cosmic-vintage--gold-18k750-perfect--id12317487.htm

and

for https://www.chrono24.de/omega/montre-omega-cosmic-moonphase-en-or-jaune-vers-1940--id11700153.htm

Is that considered normal?
Thanks,

Tobi

IMO this theory makes the most sense. I think the similarity between the watches and what appears to be serial numbers on the back suggest this is some sort of limited reissue.

If I remember correctly someone on OF managed to bag a very good example at auction for roughly 2000 euros. These are an absolute mine field of redials and restorations from what I have seen.
