I'm still on my journey to buy my first Omega vintage watch. The last one was a total failure, which I realized with your help.

I have my eyes on these two, and would love to hear your opinion on which one is a better deal and their authenticity.

The asking price for the Constellation is 900€ and for the Seamaster 1400€ (that one looks so clean, the seller sais it was never worn/with original omega wristband).

Your opinion is greatly appreciate! Thank You!

Both looks genuine by pictures

Constellation price is fair ( 600 - 1200 ) case is not perfect to be honest but not too bad from dial side

Cosmic is overpriced. Are you sure you have to triple the price due untouched condition and to me it looks like serviced vintage watch + polished , many of these models are really in good shape

Whilst the 168.018 is not the most collectible Constellation , it is still Omega’s flagship watch of the era.
The Cosmic, whilst still a quality watch, isn’t.

The Constellation looks to be in good condition with the radial brushing present on the bezel and all the lug facets intact but perhaps some signs of rotor rub on the rotor.

Nice big brutalist indices in jet rather than onyx IIRC. (If you like that style they certainly stand out. )

Just make sure that the ding on the bezel at 5 isn’t a crack.

The price is pretty much spot on for one of these watches.

Hi,

the Constellation has a small 'hand-problem' the lume on the minute hand tip is gone and was replaced by a black substance.
The majority of the examples has pointed hands, these are flat but you see the flat ones on other exemaples as well.

Little dial imperfection at minute six?

Good luch!

Hey, thanks for that 🙏 . The thing on minute 6 is not visible in the other photos. Yes, the hand seems a bit odd, but I think I can live with it. This watch has been on this planet longer than me 🙃.

If you have other photos please post them.
There is so much weirdness about the end of the minute hand in this pic that it would be good to see an alternative image.

The lume is just gone. There is a hole in the minute hand. It is white when on white background and black when on black background. That is not too bad for me. I just want to wear it, and have no intent to sell it again quickly. I think the price is okay for that condition?

that is what I was hoping for - and an easy fix for a competent watchmaker to fill in the hole with matching material to make it look whole again

I like the Connie, decent price and while not super popular as a reference it’s not because there is anything wrong with the .018, it’s just not as popular as people clamour for piepans

This
Get closeup focused photos of this area of bezel if it has crack it’s a no go.
Agree that Constellation is higher grade watch

It is just a bit deeper scratch.
