Hi all,

I’m considering purchasing this gold-plated Omega Seamaster Cosmic, advertised as ref. 135.017, and would appreciate some opinions regarding originality/authenticity.

The main thing concerning me is the caseback. Many Cosmic examples I’ve seen appear to have the reference number engraved externally, whereas this one only shows “OMEGA / SEAMASTER / WATERPROOF” with the hippocampus logo.

My questions are:

  1. Is it normal for some Cosmic cases not to have the external reference number?
  2. Does the dial appear original?
  3. Any obvious concerns I may be missing?
The watch is from a Japanese seller and would cost around £592 before UK import charges.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
