Hello everyone, I hope you have an excellent day, I ask for help by this means to see if it is possible with the help of images to identify why an Omega cal 351 does not work. The person who sells it says that it does not work, it has not been reviewed and indicates that he does not know the subject, the watch is in another part of the country but offers it at a very good price, less than 100 American dollars. Before making the decision to buy it, because I really like it, I wanted to know your opinion regarding its originality and probable reasons why it does not work and if being able to make it work would be very complicated or not. He was attentive to see if I dare to buy it.

First of all, welcome to Omega Forums. Since it is important that we all are able to communicate, our forum is written only in English. Although I speak some Spanish, I used Google Translate to help me here.

Regarding this watch, there no possible way to determine why it is not working from photographs. You would need to take it to a watchmaker in your area. Older watches like this generally require service even if running. Here in the USA such service from a local independent watchmaker might be $200 to $300. It could be more or less depending on where you live.

What I can tell you is the watch looks to be in original condition with a gold plated or filled case. However, there is information on the inside of the case back that is critical for identification of the model and whether or not it is an original Omega licensed case.

The price of under $100 is good, so long as you understand that you are gambling on the cost of a service.

Hope this helps,

I'm not personally a fan of gold-filled cases, but the watch looks legit and the price is good. So if you have access to an experienced watchmaker, and you don't mind spending several hundred USD on repairs, you could take a risk on it.
