Omega 30T2 1940 - your opinions please

Hi, I'm looking to maybe buy this Omega 30T2 but as a newbie watch enthusiast would appreciate your experienced opinions please.

It is claimed to be from 1940, and original crown, hands, and steel bracelet.

The face has some patina/stains for which I'm not sure if they can be removed without damage or just best to leave alone?

Also would appreciate your thoughts on value.

I would ask for some photos of the dial taken straight-on in order to see the face better. But it looks like the dial has been cleaned or washed in some manner that did not allow them to get close to the hour markers. Movement looks pretty grungy as well. Better photos of the dial will help determine if it looks like the dial has been refinished.

Sorry but it's a franken or composition:
Cal 30T2 PC from 1946-47.
Case and case back from 1940-41
Dial not for a T2, it's for a 26x series
Hands better for a 26x or the last T2s (uncommon)
Crown with logo (from forties but last)
Bracelet bed of rice, definitely not for this watch.

No, Omega serial numbers are on the movement, which puts it from the 40's, as @Germanicus stated.

Hello again, the first case back number is 1, not a 2.
It's identifying the case. First Omega's came with a number of seven or eight digits, later replaced and appears four digits.

As @efauser said the number embossed at one of the bridges of the movement allows to date it.

P. S. The dial is not for this serial number of the movement

Case number 1023xxxx and movement number 1074xxxx (ca. 1949) could match okay, no worry there IMHO.

The dial looks like a 1960's dial and the bracelet is also a later one than the watch IMHO.

The bracelet wouldn't be a worry to me, as it can easily be replaced, although I'm personally fond of the beads of rice style anyway.

So it seems the main issue could be the watch face and movement and maybe even the case are all mismatched.
On that basis, you all suggest probably to walk away from this purchase, regardless of price which in this case is approx £350 GBP ?

These bracelets can be found for $125-150 US in decent condition.

Good to know as I really like those so it gives me the option to buy a better 'original' watch which may not have a good original bracelet or strap and replace with one of these maybe.

in the meantime, I messages the seller saying a friend said the watch is made up from various others (without mentioning this forum), and he has replied: "this particular watch its from 40s,in overall its a 100% original."

Do you guys think I should use the report this listing feature for the greater good to help catch sellers like this?
