·I'm not pleased with the execution on this one. Now I have to text my SA at the OB and say hard pass. 🙁
First, I don't like the sunken sundials. It solves the problem of having a two tone dial, but then the dial loses it's integrity.
Second, the glossy look. Too shiny and fancy. The white dial version has the advantage in having the sundials be matted.
Third, the cost. Completely unjustifiable. It's not like you have PP's craftspeople making these things. It's all automated.
Definitely not a day one purchase for me, but wish it was. Hoping instead that I can snatch an SS Rolex GMT or Sub later this year at MSRP.
I do feel good that one of my guesses was that it was a panda of some sort!

·I've struggled with my Ed White being "too shiny and fancy." But it eventually won me over.
I could easily see owning of these in steel at some point. Seems like a great balance between regular Moonwatch sporty and slightly refined dressy.

·The "fancier" speedmaster was already the sapphire sandwich. This is just feels like a new model for the sake of releasing a new model.
Slapping an OG ST1 on a brushed bracelet is only a tiny bit more expensive but has a lot more charm.

·Like all watches this one will have to be viewed in person to fully understand all the nuances, you just can't do that pictures. The only thing that looks odd to me is the sharp step on the subdials, a bit jarring. Maybe it's less pronounced in person.

·I just looked in Omega's website and they list the height as 13.54mm.....looks like the websites are all over the map on the crystal.....I just read Time & Tide and they list the following:
"They boast 42mm cases, 13.18mm thick including the Hesalite-simulating boxed sapphire crystal, and are a comfortable 47.5mm across the wrist lug-to-lug."
I don't know who to believe anymore....I'll just have to see it for myself....

·Been to see the steel one in the flesh and got a few photos. If you are a collector, I absolutely think it’s a great addition to what you already have. If you are just starting out, and don’t have a Speedmaster yet (much like myself), then I would go for the OG first. It’s really quite beautiful. Shame about the crystal not being the same as what’s on the FOIS, but hey we can’t have everything can we? 😉

·Tried it on today, beautiful watch but I'm not yet sure I want it. I also test how it looked with an Omega leather strap I own (sorry for the quality, it's a capture from a video i made).

·How many people are buying new thesedays? A quality secondhand 3861 is had for 4-5k. Even the sedna gold ones are selling for 50% second hand.
If you like the panda but not the price, just give it a year or two - you can pick it up for 4k off.

·The sales guy from my local OB said they've had a shocking number of folks do full-price orders on these sight-unseen. So either the flippers think this is going to be worth a lot, or this is shockingly popular.
