I'm just not a fan of the Nato...too bulky and to much work, IMHO.
But while i was playing around, I reapplied the caseback sticker, going back on my word about collecting scuffs and scratches😜...i figure it's a handy place to store the sticker!

Revisiting the photo I posted, I do appreciate the color they chose for the NATO that goes with the RM....great compliment to the color of the hour markers.

Taken a few minutes ago.

Sweet , welcome to the most non-elitist, down-to-earth, cool, run-fo-the-mill, average Omega owners club ever!
Really cool watch.

Yes, agreed...I got my first couple of light scratches there on the caseback...the clasp of the bracelet scuffed the caseback within hours of my removing the sticker. I thought about replacing the sticker, but too late...the scratches are already there, plus I intend to make this a daily wearer and a friend for life, so we'll both collect scuffs and scratches as we venture through life together.
I hate when that happens. It makes me cringe when I see someone laying their watch flat and the back makes contact with the bracket. Im always looking for a way to put mine down sideways on a soft surface. Lol.

Definitely plan to leave the caseback sticker on my Speedmaster for this reason. Whenever it shows up..

Is it normal for these to hit sporadically in the USA?

So, I did end up passing on a reservation on the SM '57 edition I had reserved in London. Truly it is a stunning watch - absolutely beautiful however it didn't sing to me personally when I went to the OB. I couldn't warm to the bracelet and with some recent additions that have captured my heart more I decided to pass and free up some inventory for another enthusiast. Really beautifully and sympathetically recreated classics and I commend Omega for doing such an excellent job when we have recently seen some LEs from them and other heritage inspired pieces from other brands disappoint.

Congratulations to everyone that got one of the pieces and loves them. I can't wait to see them all in the metal and adorning the wrists of the lucky few in the coming months.

Interesting, you could have just held onto the Speedy 57 for a couple of months and flipped it for a nice profit 😉

I like these reissues and saw the Seamaster 300 at the OB in Paris yesterday. I liked the smaller size and vintage look and it felt nice and sturdy. I didn't like the faux patina lume, it's just not the right colour and it looks too clean. It's also a very shiny watch, if they tried for a vintage look with the patina then why not try for a vintage look in other ways? I would have preferred either white lume plots with the way the watch is now OR an all out attempt to make a vintage looking watch.

I think Omega will eventually release another LE even closer to the original, perhaps distressed to look more like a vintage watch.

Apart from the buckle and the thickness of the bracelet and the crystal, I do not see what you can do to be closer to the original. And with regards to the patina, I had the same feeling the first time I saw it under the OB's lights. I thought it was a bit dull. Outside, it's totally different. Really superb.

SM’57 being the Seamaster or Speedmaster?
