SM’57 being the Seamaster or Speedmaster?
Apologies for the lack of clarity - SM was meaning Seamaster and not Speedmaster which I understand are currently as scarce as hen's teeth.

I have to admit the lume does look a lot better under natural light 😀

Wouldn't the original have had brush polished lugs?

According to this picture it had the same polished hands.

Je parlais des cornes (lugs) et pas des aiguilles (hands) 😉

I think the lugs on the CK2913 were highly polished but the examples you see now carry 60 years worth of scratches making them less shiny looking. Maybe an owner can chime in?

Looks amazing! Congrats! Even looked like a nice day too! May I ask what series number you got?

0103/3557...Not the number I requested, but I don't really mind.

That’s a pretty low number [emoji1360]

I think Omega will eventually release another LE even closer to the original, perhaps distressed to look more like a vintage watch.

Yuk. Reminds me of those new dining tables in the 1980s trashed with chains and hammers to get that "country" look. No thanks, I'll distress my own watch by wearing it for years.

The more I see the Seamaster 300, the more I want to switch my deposit over. The countdown bezel, the recessed lume, the perfect diver size, LITERALLY everything is 10/10. This is a huge problem because I only have funds for one watch this year, and it's already going towards the Speedy. Damn all you enablers!! ::facepalm1::

The only thing holding me back is the sapphire crystal. If it was acrylic like the original 300, I'd be all over it. For now, I think I'm set on the Speedmaster, but please continue to post pictures and let me live vicariously through you. 😁

2 weeks of ownership with this one. No desire to put it on the bracelet. Loving how understated it looks [emoji16]

look amazing!

If it helps pushes you towards one or another; there is no recessed lume, it’s not a sandwich dial. Everything is 11/10 and the sapphire crystal fits this perfectly; there’s no grey ring/haze issue on the edges of the crystal. And the size is perfect.

Ah désolé. Let's shift to English. Read too fast. What I can say is that I have never seen vintage 2915, 2914 or 2913 that had a mat finish on the lugs and the case. So I guess, lugs were polished in the same manner. Through time, it will probably become less visible.

Correction (a minor one): the Seamaster MC (on the right) has a wider lume area on both hands versus the 60th anniversary edition, which duplicates the original 1957 version. Also, the SM MC hands have a "spine" down the center making 2 flat planes, whereas the 1957 and 2017 versions have a very subtle curve.

Yes, polished (not brushed, like Rolex) lugs on the original (in your photo), but since vintage pieces have seen some action, they. Any not be a high polish anymore.
(Oops, Solesman said that already...."ditto"!)

Any luck in AMS?
Just got back. Unlucky 1957 Trilogy trip.....
In Amsterdam:
- Ace seems to be the only one who received and sold out a few.
- Tourbillon has a full waiting list, no one there knows when they will arrive
- Gassan haven't heard of the Trilogy (at least the branches I went to, even in Amsterdam Schipol airport)
In Germany's airports (as I was transiting):
- Frankfurt Airport Omega AD- Not aware of the Trilogy
- Munich Airport Omega AD - they also have a waiting list, should be received before Oktoberfest
