on a SM300, i was quoted a VAT free price with free shipping to the US of £4460 which today is ~$5750, so $2k cheaper than what it would cost in the US after tax. Sterling was weaker relative to the dollar when I inquired in March. The USD price back then from a UK dealer would have been ~$5400.
Wow - that is significantly cheaper!! How can they do that?

Sacrifice a bit of their margin to keep prices constant for UK aficionados like myself. Was thinking about taking the Apollo 15 home in October which is probably still sitting in the Las Vegas OB - that will be an expensive venture now...

Happens everywhere and all of the time. Look at the international pricing for technology items.

It's arrived!! Number 357 (has a nice ring to it). I have to say, first time seeing it in the flesh and I'm blown away.

The number seems to make it just that little bit more special!

Thought it was going to be the first speedmaster 1957 on this forum! Until I saw the pics loaded.

I was offered that number by the boutique in Regent Street last Thursday. Enjoy the 300 mate.[emoji95]

Great looking watch. How does it feel thickness wise?

Get it anyway! [emoji16]
So, the SM that I decided not to buy in Hamburg has just been sold. Best wishes...whoever you are!
👍

Are we starting to see any kind of number vs location pattern yet? For the SM I have seen 200s in Hamburg, 300s in the U.K. And for the Railmaster low 1000s in Hamburg.

I have a theory that Omega has deliberately spread the non-Trilogy LE numbers around the globe to avoid folks building full sets of matching numbers.

When I got the call in London I was offered 251, 252, 259 & 357 for the SM300. I was offered the RM too but wasn't interested so no idea of the number.

Have to say that, although it has huge presence on the wrist, it wears incredibly well. I've got the NATO strap on so it sits a fraction higher than normal (the bracelet was a #$&£¥ to take off). All the elements of the watch seem to work in a way that makes it appear larger than it actually is.

Thank you for the answer. If you have the time can you take a picture from the side? It's such a great looking watch, hope you enjoy it.

My wrist is 6.25 inches and round as opposed to flat. It wears just like the FOIS Speedmaster.

Were all these at the same boutique? Heard before that OBs don’t give you a choice of numbers.

Two different London boutiques. I was No1 on the list at each boutique though.
