Do you guys think there's room in a small collection for both the Speedy 60th and a regular 3570.50? Seems redundant to have both. I like both. I had a GMT2 and an Explorer 2 but sold the Explorer because it had the same movement, despite different case size, dial color, bezel, bracelet finishing, etc.

I see the Speedy 60th and the Speedy Pro as two different watches. One was intendant for race car drivers and the other for astronauts. In my opinion one is more slender, refined and more elegant and the other is more of an adventurous, robust tool watch. They share the same DNA but were built for different purposes. I think one should try to separate the two and see them as individual watches instead of trying to compare the two too much. Both have their special place in history. So in my opinion I think that a small collection definitely could fit the two.

I think you could easily carry a 60th anniversary speedy and a 42mm lyre lugged speedy in the same collection. For me though, I'd want them to be a bit more different and I'd go for a vintage model to accompany the 60th. I have my 105.012 for my inner space nerd, and I'll have the 60th as a great daily wearer, and the closest I'll ever get to a 2915. My collection isn't huge and I'm sure they'll coexist.

Yes, there are visual similarities, but the case shape, broad arrows, and steel bezel I think push it far enough away. Then again, no way to know until you own both. I've had watches that I didn't think overlapped before, and found myself neglecting one entirely in favor of the other. I'd buy one and see how it goes. With the demand being what it is, I doubt you'll have any trouble getting rid of it down the line if you find yourself falling out of love with it.

I personally believe there is room for a 60th, 3570.50, St and CK2998 😟

My wife, in the other hand, may have a different opinion 😗

(edit -- forgot to include the TinTin...)

I have a 3594.50 and 3572.50. Typically I keep the broad arrow on the bracelet or a brown leather nato, and keep the speedy pro on dressier black leather. I find they come off as totally different watches. I think you'd likely find the same.

Surely there is room for both, appearance wise they are quite different. It just depends how thick your wallet is. If you may afford to have more than 3 watches in your collection then well... it is a must.👍

That's some next-level screenshotting you got going on there. Are you wanting all three or just one of the three?

These are three on my Top 10 list. Life goals

A worthy collection aim. It's a pity about the sapphire only availability of the FOIS - spoils it a bit for me.

Was at an 60th Annversary event last night hosted by Omega at a boutique. Met a bunch of wonderful collectors/enthusiasts and a couple guys on forums like OF finally in real life. Had a great time and it was really something else to be with true enthusiasts of the brand (felt very different than the Rolex Basel event I was at 2 days ago). Did not expect to see the new Basel pieces here but they made an appearance. I have no regrets regarding the trilogy after seeing them in the metal....they are just spectacular in painstaking process they took to replicate the 57 models. They don't look as shiny as some of the pictures dictate in real life, the brushed center link with the polished outer edge bracelets really work for these watches. The matte dials are immaculate if you love vintage and of course the hesalite look on the Speedy was no surprise....the big surprise was the sapphire dome they did for the Railmaster and the Seamaster....it looks spectacular, perfectly done dome and nothing like the sapphire Speedies with the milky ring etc. Even has a small omega laser etched on the center of the sapphire....might ding them a bit for this one as it stands out a bit (unlike for example a Rolex coronet) but far from a deal killer. The new owners will be very happy IMO:

Another note about these watches, despite the straight lug design...I was very surprised how well it proportions and wears on a small wrist like mine (6.375 to 6.5"), it looks really good and the profile is extremely comfortable/thin for a modern master coaxial movement on the Seamaster and the Railmaster. Extremely nice. I can't wait.

Ha! Funny comment M-D! Happy to see that someone appreciated my screenshot 'project' 😀 I've had an iMac for 12 years now and learned how to do a screen shot for the first time last week. That was on a web page. Yesterday I figured out that it's possible to combine multiple screenshots into one image on one's desktop. Kinda' cool. Anyway, back to watches. Yes, I seriously want all three. I'll have to pay off the 60th '57 Speedy first.

Great feedback, sensui! Thanks! Good to know that you have no regrets after seeing the set in person. Thanks for sharing the photos as well.

Are you planning to buy each individually over time? Or all at once to get the LE number on the face. I think it'd bother me if I got each one individually, obtain all three, but not have the LE numbers on them.

Side note, I could never afford all three at once though haha!

'Morning pianomankd. I only plan to purchase the 60th '57 Speedmaster in the Anniversary collection. The other two watches I was referring to were in the screenshot image that I posted above, the FOIS and the latest/new 42mm Speedy Pro. Unfortunately, I can't afford to purchase all three at one time, either. 'But it's fun to think about =)
