Meh. Nice watch but I'm not running out to get it. It's trying to do to much for me.

From a diving perspective, that's not exactly useful (and I'd imagine stemmed from the non-existence of dive charts in 1957). How long you can stay down is a function of the depth you're operating at. The limit isn't always an hour.

To me, that is the reason why I'll be getting the speedy. Every dive watch I buy needs to be one I can dive with, and this one just isn't functional in that respect.

I like the trilogy, and it is a more affordable way to get these models as compared to the vintage ones. It is a lot of cabbage to get the trio, but at this point it isn't even clear how to go about trying. My OB has no info yet. I'm guessing it may mean submitting 'qualifications' a la CK2998, which means a no-go for me as the #ST is the only watch I will have purchased through an OB.

Oh I agree with you 100%!! I was about to start typing that, but dive physiology and gas law starts to depart from Seamasters and Speedmasters! :)

I think historically, time was much more a part of the equation for diving (even recreationally) because not all tanks even had pressure gauges - you'd have J-valves, which would start to cut off your gas supply around 700 or so PSI, which would be your cue to start for the surface. Pulling the J-valve down at that point would release the remaining gas to you. J-valves are pretty uncommon in recreational applications but still found in some technical applications today. Nowhere near as advanced or as accurate as dive computers today!

I encourage you to keep asking around. And don't get discouraged. Recall the (disastrous) crazy rush on CK2998; and today, you can still find them for sale new. Even if a little hazy now immediately after the fireworks, the smoke will clear.

In 1957 you had no pressure gauge for the tank, but you did have dive charts. You planned the dive to depth and time down , as there was no way to know how much air was in the tank. Once These came out and you knew much air was in the tank you then timed botten time and the dive watches switched to a count up timer. Welcome to j valves and bailout valves.

    That Railmaster.

    A NAIAD crown? Flat-link bracelet?

The others are cool but I must have this. I will be deeply in debt by the end of summer ::facepalm2::

Can't wait to see all three in the flesh though, I want to see if the 2915 reissue has the nasty lug bevels of the FOIS or if they're modified to look more like the original.

Last point: Thank the watch lords I already have a 2913 that I'm quite happy with because damn.

I'm assuming it's similar to the ck2998. I just talked to my boutique rep and put in the request for the trilogy. Very excited.

They always say that and then it is September when they actually show up. For me, the longer the better so I can save up for the SM300.

Theyre reporting different times for different models so I'm thinking it might be a bit more accurate this time.

Those NATO's in the trilogy box are awesome, hope Omega releases those individually as well. Don't like the Omega NATO colors you can buy right now.

Hopefully, that bezel on the SM300 will be so distasteful few will pre-order. :D

I'm just trying to do the math on whether not eating food for a few months could pay off the Railmaster, I'm fat as it is right now so I could stand to lose the weight and living on steamed turnips and cabbage in theory shouldn't kill me.

I have started thinking about what I can sell(not watches!) to help get the money faster.
