Closed casebacks on the Seamaster and Railmasters; does that make them thinner? I hope so!

I adore the SM & the Railmaster, and I really like the Speedy: whilst it is cool they have recreated the exact same watch, it's still odd to me that you could mistake it from a 1957 Speedy (albeit, from a far)
It is, however, a brilliant release compared to the shit unleashed by Rolex (43mm SD?) and Tudor (BB steel is not good and the BB chrono is really really bad)

I truly love these. But 2017 has to set the record for the number of limited edition pieces put on the market.

The sea master and the rail master are the same watches aside from aesthetics - to many they will be substitutes (to only the very few who are going for the set are they complements).

I am glad to pick up either one in the secondhand market. And I am hopeful, since there are over 7 thousand such pieces to choose from.

Some live shots of the trilogy full set in their box, which looks terrific as its inspired by the original box Omega shipped these pieces in right down to the way they sit diagonally in the box.

Did they post prices for these individually? Love the releases!

Edit:
Ha! I was too excited and didn't even see that the prices were listed in the article.

Is the tropical dial on the speedmaster an obvious brown colour or is it more black?

Sheer brilliance on OMEGA's part! Absolutely splendid SM300. I am happy to see the word "waterproof" on the caseback. I fear to learn the price in case I cannot stop crying. Also, the Railmaster never did anything for me but this reissue has nailed it.

So there is extra text on the dial on the 557 trilogy pieces?

The best thing Rolex did was add the Sea-Dweller in red, imo. That I really like. The increase in size is not necessarily necessary but I hate the Cyclops lens.

It does seem that way from the photo

So are there 3557 of each + 557 from the trilogy set or are there actually 3000 of non-trilogy + 557 trilogy?

From an aesthetic sense, the RM speaks the loudest to me personally. Any time-only with minimal dial writing, I'm going to swoon - RM is gorgeous! If I didn't have an Explorer I, it would be very nearly impossible to resist it! Just wish my Explorer I's dial was this subtle and clean!

From an "I probably shouldn't let this get away" sense, the SM with that bezel and pip-wedge is freaking gorgeous. A lovely minimal dial! Right now the SM is the one I'm personally leaning towards; it has the most potential for a "I'll buy you if you'll just shut up and get out of my brain already!"

I'm personally least interested in the Speedy. I think it's gorgeous, but I can definitely pass on this one. Ultimately, I'm not that huge of a speedy fan.

Case dimensions sure sound fantastic all around! Hoping to see these all in an OB soon! This has been such a fun "Christmas Morning"! 😀

I like the cyclops on my Kermit, it makes less sense on the SD I believe. Also, why take out the 40mm and put in a 43mm ? Maybe it didn't sell well.
But then again, it's OK next to the uglyness of the rainbow Yachtmaster. The moonphase Cellini though is very cool

Love this caseback!

You know what it looks like? A thin caseback. That over displayback was a great call.

They nailed the smallest details....the "Y" Niaid winding crown, even the Omega logo in the center of the crystal👍...As I said before on other posts, this will be the first time in a VERY long time I'll be buying a watch new from the AD.
