3900 Triology watches that is 11700 in total. Add 2000 Speedytuesdays, add another 2000 PO Sezchuan or whatever, add the Eugene Cernan speedmasters (do we know the limitation already?). That means Omega is throwing more than 16000 LEs in a market that just hit the bottom of the most severe crisis for 30 years! 12000 of whom are broad arrowed, glossy polished, faux lume replicas!
If you ask me this is megalomania. I will prefer the standard issue FOIS and the SM300 Master anytime over these fellas. I am gonna have a look at the Railmaster though when it appears for 4k-something on the grey market and I definetly see this happen, too. I just wonder what that means for my Speedytuesday reservation. Seems I have to decide in the boutique to take or leave it. Given this flood of LE's you can't take it for granted anymore that you could dump it without loss, just in case.

Speedmaster: after more careful examination there are a couple of elements that I don't like and the greatest threat to this and every other Speedmaster variant is the actual Moonwatch. I would in all honesty rather buy a new plain Moonwatch than this.
Good point about the plain Moonwatch - its design is just about perfect. I do think, however, that most people interested in the Speedmaster 60th already own the Moonwatch.

I inquired here locally in DC and they also said that there has been robust interest all day long. They wouldn't confirm receipt of one even with full deposit as demand globally has been quite strong. This watch will be sold out very soon.....
Tysons? I have not heard back from my rep today, but she usually sends emails in the early evening. The 100% Deposit + "Trilogy" text really killed the set for me last night, as I was ready to commit. Even without the text, 100% is really pushing it for a company that has routinely missed promised delivery windows by many months.

I'm curious as to why they're doing this. Maybe to deter resellers who ruin it for the average Omega enthusiast? They said I only need to put down 30% if I wanted to reserve the Big Blue lol

Limited edition pieces/set require a full 100%, anything standard production is only 30%.

Why would you want to buy something with the expectation of flipping it? Buy it to enjoy it, and don't worry about resale. If that's the first thought that runs through your mind, then this hobby is going to the stressful.
One should always have in mind resale value when acquisition is above let me say an average salary payment. God only knows what may await you in future.

To be realistic, I'm told that of the 557 trilogy box set pieces being made, 200 come to the US (as reported here earlier). As of today, slightly over 100 reservations have been made (per the OB network). I suspect that excludes the #'s that were pre-allocated to AD's.

Yep, Tysons. I'm still waiting on my confirmation. FWIW, payment is fully refundable.

Correct. The caseback on these three replicas are incorrecty styled as well. Neither the 2915-1, 2913-1 or 2914-1 had a seamonster on the caseback. The monster came in later references. The original casebacks were mostly blank.

no, that is not correct, the 2915-1 I have has the Seamonster but it stands alone without the word Speedmaster around. Speedmaster is engraved on the side. The 2914-1 I have indeed is without any engravings

ugh. Please make it (the Trilogy text) stop...

Every time I see it, it's like another slap to my face for trusting they nailed the entire trilogy program entirely. Cannot believe it still, but it's been a whole day and confirmations have come....have to accept and move on.

I'm going to make a prediction here that due to the number of units the Speedmaster will not sell out that quickly but will be hard to source after a year or so similar to the CK2998 and will be available at or below MSRP at some point.

The Seamaster I'm thinking will take a fair bit longer to sell, and the Railmaster (which I really want), due to its lack of awareness and features will be a slow seller, and should be available at a decent discount eventually, at which point I'll hopefully be in a position to pick one up maybe next year or something. I have a feeling that Railmaster might actually come down enough to really be good value in time, and would be a superb daily wearer.

An interesting prediction. What I'm not seeing is any consideration of speculation. Given what happened to prices for the Snoopy and pent up unsatisfied demand for the Speedy Tuesday edition, I suspect that speculators will suck up the original allocation and this may push demand into secondary sales. What I have read here and elsewhere is a number of forum members saying that they are not sure about xxx design factor, but are buying one anyway. I suggest that this is a form of speculation too - they want to initially secure one because they are not sure where the market will head, but it is safer to be in at the start and pay MSRP than take a chance that resale values will go high.

If I do go ahead with a 60th Speedy, my hope is the value will not fall below $5k USD over the next year or two, and it will creep back up to somewhere around the MSRP and hopefully stay there.

I feel for some reason that it won't ever go below MSRP

Does anyone know the lug width of the 38mm Speedy? I'm wondering if the bracelet will work on my '68 Ultraman, which I purchased sans bracelet.

I just keep looking down at my Ranchero and thinking..."they look so similar. Is $7500 worth the extra 2mm's and the sweep second hand and the "6"???.....of course there's more to it than that, such as the amazing movement, but still....
