Hi guys,

not properly introduced yet at the forum, but just a quick shot of my latest aquisition.
I am very happy with this speedy.
I had some pro’s in the collection but was never really happy with them. But hey, I am at the moment in love with the ‘57. It is a completely different watch!
Oh amazing how the light plays with this watch

Stay home and save!

Received the forstner bracelet today.

Some say it is to small, but I am glad the speedy isn’t 42 mm in size.

Currently debating purchasing a 60th LE Speedie for 15% under RRP, unworn, which got me thinking: are these undervalued at the moment?

Considering values of originals are north of £100k, and these are incredible modern interpretations still using hesalite and the 1861, I’m wondering if they look great value compared to other LE Speedies like the ST1 and 2, etc.

They are very good value, but price is driven by supply and demand. At the moment, there are more sellers than buyers. 3557 was quite a high number to a produce for a watch which appeals mainly to enthusiasts I guess. And it's up against cheaper offerings like the Moonwatch and FOIS. (Still prefer this one though).

I wouldn’t debate too much longer

providing it’s in good condition, -15% is a good price for a great watch

I bought mine, also unworn, few days ago for more so don’t hesitate too much 😀

I agree on supply and demand...but there’s currently more Ultraman’s for sale on C24 than 60th LE Speedies! (UK)

History provides little guidance with regards to value. It has not appreciated as a few others for several possible reasons (the original from 1957 is really uncommon, some people don't like these hands very much, it has no "space" experience vs. 2998, 105.003...). Whatever… I would not care and would only see a great opportunity to buy a great watch at a good price.

It's a great piece for the price, weak point is the clasp on the bracelet, it's overly big. I'm surprised NIB ones are still floating around at this point. Buy it.

They are great watches, but there are a lot of these out there. Agreed that the clasp is massive....But leather solvs that 😀

Yep, the bracelet (no taper) and the clasp were the negatives for me. I think all three look best on leather but nice watches none the less

I’m with you guys on the bracelet. The watch itself is fantastic. I think any of the new offerings from @Uncle Seiko would make this piece unbeatable.

Hi,

sadly I had to switch to FOIS today, because of steam inside my 60th Anni ...
My Observation in general is this happens more offen with the cases that have
no crown guards / no protection of the pushers 😵‍💫

Take to a watchmater asap, moisture in a watch is not a good thing...
it is a sad sight for sure.
