I am curious why a "very low number" matters.

Well I am not sure on the definition of pre owned, this piece which I inspected had blank cards unstamped by the dealer but the watch did not have stickers. I specifically asked if they would be stamping the card and they said yes they would. Other branches of Fraser Hart are AD's just not this branch so maybe that is why?
I am unsure of the legitimacy of this and I had a quick word with the Manager of the OB opposite and he suggested the card should really be stamped by a branch in their network which was an AD.
He was the one who suggested if it was all stamped up on sale then it would benefit from the new improved warranty.
Fair enough. Sounds a bit dodgy but perfectly plausible. It may actually be brand new but they don’t want to be seen discounting it.

It had a very minor blemish on the brushed side, tiny but noticeable under their harsh lighting. I think it may have been rejected at handover and sent to this branch as they have a pre owned display cabinet and significant foot traffic.
The Manager there seemed as surprised as anybody to have inherited it as they are principally Longines, Oris, Rado, Mont Blanc and assorted fashion junk.
They also had the Seamaster, again with a couple of very minor blemishes but full package.
I had a good look and a bit of a ponder but couldn't reach for the debit card as I am not totally smitten with these on the wrist.

Fraser hart in Newbury have had a railmaster in the window for 11 months. Reduced to 4600 for the last 6 and they can’t get rid of it. Reckon you’d get it for 4K if you asked nicely.....

I wonder if it is this one now transferred oop north, looks like it has been tried on quite a few times! Nothing terrible but clearly been handled a fair bit. It is 11/3557 in case anyone interested, I have passed.

The Seamaster was down to £4100 and I got them further down to £3,950 but I am keeping my powder dry for the 50th next year

Sorry - £4,600 in the window. Sure there is a deal to be done also.

The £3,950 for the seamaster mentioned is a bargain.

For anyone interested, there is one of each in the regents street boutique (London). Very surprised to see a speedy there!

I was half tempted to pick the speedy up for the second time but my better half ‘persuaded’ me not to.....

There seems to have been a final trickle of unsold examples in to the dealer network in the last couple of weeks, mainly SM and RM but the odd Speedmaster is also to be found. Long term I suspect the Speedy will do well as it is a serious piece beautifully recreated rather than a novelty.

I think non enthusiasts struggle a bit with these as, if you are not aware of or interested in the back story they possibly look a bit mundane compared to some of the more colourful Omega offerings. Around 10k pieces in total as well, need a lot of WIS to soak them all up!

I have the Speedmaster and the Seamaster 60th Anniversary LEs and I can't get over how incredibly comfortable the vintage style straps that come with these watches are. The Speedmaster comes with a brown almost suede but not quite finish that is incredibly soft to the touch. The leather has no stiffness to it at all so it's a very casual look. The Seamaster's tan strap has some polish to it but not a high polish and is still comfortable but not as soft as the one that comes with the Speedmaster. Anyone have recommendations for companies that make straps like these?

The strap looks good but I love the design of the bracelet

The bracelet for the trilogy watches is pretty incredible. That's half of what pulled me in since I can't stand the standard one that comes on the moon watch.

Being a WIS, I can't leave well enough alone though so I've been playing around with NATO straps, the leather straps that come with the trilogy watches, and now I also ordered some vintage style straps on the way - including a Bulang & Sons in Siena Brown. There is a 15% off Black Friday sale right now.
