Initially I really wanted the Speedmaster and the Railmaster was a distant third, now I find I’m warming to the Railmaster a lot more.

The SM300 was never for me. I much prefer the later version from the mid sixties (165-014) because the Bezel looks right.

Truth be told, the Seamaster and Railmaster are a much better value than the Speedy. The master chronometer movements are superior, and work great for daily use

That does look good. I personally prefer the extra interest the bezel offers so snapped up a Seamaster version when it came up at a good price a while ago. I haven’t regretted it, but I see why an owner of the Railmaster has a lot to like.
I have to say, to me, the closest to the original is the Seamaster. The Railmaster is very VERY close second. they often fool me thinking that I see the vintage version.

I prefer the Seamaster between the 3, but the watch is so shiny, it's really hard to get a good photo of it.

I tend to agree re the Railmaster looking like a real vintage piece

I usually prefer brushed steel surfaces, but somehow the high polish gives these pieces (especially the Railmaster) a vintage 1950's look and feel. This 50's look is somehow enhanced by the matching bracelet which I've said before functions as an aesthetic extension of the bezel, lugs and case design in general.

Plus, I love how it will show all the little scuffs and swirl marks as we grow old together.

Lowest pre-owned (but like new) forum prices I've seen:
Railmaster: GBP 3075 (sold after a week)
Seamaster: GBP 4250 (still for sale after a month)
Speedmaster: GBP 4750 (still for sale after 3 days)

These things don't seem to hold their value very well.
This is crazy!

My favourite has always been the railmaster, but I had recently come across the speedy and couldn’t resist. Now I wear the speedy more often than the RM. it’s my first speedy and I love the size of this one compared to the speedy pros. (I have a small wrist).

I didn’t love the SM when I first saw it in my AD with the RM but am now strongly considering it to complete the set. Wish I could have gotten all the same numbers though.

The RM and SM is still available in many ADs and OBs. Saw the RM in the Vegas OB in bellagio a couple weeks ago and I believe the Vancouver ADs have a SM the last I checked. Have only ever seen one speedy for sale though... which I bought 😉

I think Omega nailed the vintage vibe they were going for on these Triology issues.

Railmasters and seamasters are still available in the U.K. the regents street boutique had 2 of each, and there has been a railmaster in the window of my local AD for a year now (reduced to 4.6k).

I truly adore the Speedmaster from this Trilogy. I have it in my collection now since 1 week and enjoyed every moment of it.

What's crazy is the rrp to begin with, and now reflected in the resale prices.

yeah,..they were really priced crazy high. it's obv they can't sustain it after the fan boys hadto have. too many other options priced much lower

railmaster is definitely the nicest looking of the 3 homages. Plus the fact that it's the cheapest is just icing on the cake 😀

Has anyone put their Seamaster or Railmaster on a time grapher to check for positional variations in timing of the movement? I'd like to know what position is best for speeding up the movement while it's off my wrist.

You can only determine that by checking your own watch - there is no standard fast or slow position.

Yeah, thought about that....unlike Most Rolex movements that are very reliably consistent to certain positions making positional regulations pretty easy.

I bit the bullet and ordered a time grapher
