Is WIS-gasm a word? If so then that's what I had after I saw the Speedy this morning.

I have a very nicely patinated Ed White and never considered another Speedy apart from if an equal quality 2998 came to me (which is doubtful to happen) since 2915's were always way too far out of reach. This scratches that itch while giving me a modern watch that I don't feel like I need to baby.

Plus, @ChicagoFrog , @watchpatina , and I all cajoled each other (quite easily) to get one. It was funny calling the OB before they opened (and before @ChicagoFrog , which hopefully means I'll be getting a lower serial number than him) and them not having a clue what I was talking about at first - guess I was the first in Chicago to get them on the horn. I only had to put down 25%, the 100% deposit sounds ridiculous if they might not be coming until August.

Like @sgtpry , my GMT 1675 will be hitting the chopping block to make room for this guy. GLWS!

One random question from someone who's only bought vintage before -- in the US I heard we can avoid sales tax by shipping to an address out of state. Is that true? and something you can just tell the OB's to do?

Also ... any advice on how to tell my fiancee about another watch coming in before the wedding 🤔 ??
Little do you know, I paid an extra 5% to have them give me a lower serial MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

But yeah, as others have said, I put down 25% this morning and haven't heard anything since. If they ask for the full 100%, I think we all know that I'll cave and pay it, but not without putting up a fight about delivery time. Either way, I've never been this excited about a new watch. Can't wait to wear the hell out of my "2915"

I bought my BLNR at the Wynn Rolex Boutique in Las Vegas and they took off sales tax by shipping it to me in TX. I've also been to a Chanel Boutique in NYC which offered the same thing for my ex's purse. Don't know if Omega does the same thing but wouldn't hurt to ask. The worst that can happen is that the employees point at you and start laughing.

If the store you are purchasing from does not have a physical presence in the state they are shipping to, the store will often not collect sales tax.

There's no OB in Ohio....I can hold on to it for you until your next swing through Cleveland. 😉 @ahantel

I was told that the US pricing for the Railmaster LE is $6800 before tax and not the $6300 that was mentioned in the Fratello article. Is that what everyone else has been quoted?

I actually kinda like all of them although those "vintage enthusiasts" are bashing them on IG. I think these are really great reissues

That reminds me--love that Tresor dial (as delivered). Would not have been interested in the Basel version. Unfortunately, wasn't into watches until well after that LE Tresor was sold out.

That said, my guess is that the Trilogy number text will not be optional, and will be on the watches when released.
Just to let you know that if you want to there is a chance to buy it. I made a search and bought one myself less than a month ago. If you want to i will post here OB and person i got in contact with.

I must say that video is effective. All three pieces look spectacular. I do love the idea of the trio and the box set with 3 Nato, 3 straps plust the steel. I like the colours chosen too.

I only feel that having all three may be a little redundant as they all share similar characteristics ( size, lume, etc). But is would love to see them in person and would live to weat them, as much as i always complain about thr faux lume.

In short, like it or not for sure this is a class act in terms of execution and presentation. Polar opposite to last year.

They don't go by simple currency conversion. They have their internal formulas they set that is why many are rushing to London to pick up their ST.

This is a 'commonly' practiced method of saving a customer money by providing a discount in a sense. As stated above, as long as the jeweler/boutique/company doesn't have a physical presence in the intended state, then it is perfectly legal (and pragmatic) to do so. Make sure you have someone trustworthy to ship it to in the unoccupied state and send it insured. There is little downside, besides the delaying of instant gratification of course 😉

So, is the deal with the deposit situation a portion for the both the trio and individuals or full price up front one and not the other, or is it both?

Really? Most of the response I've seen has been pretty overwhelmingly positive. Then again, can't please everyone I suppose.

I'm a vintage watch guy and this is by far the most excited I've ever been about a new release from any brand. This is also the first time I'll end up selling a vintage piece to make room for a modern one. I can't see an argument against these (particularly the speedy) that holds water. A 2915 is so crazy rare and exhorbitantly expensive that, despite being one of the nicest looking watches omega has made, almost no one gets to appreciate them. Even if you have the spare 150k lying around to buy one, you're still not wearing it daily. If I were a billionaire I'd buy a 2915, and then I'd also buy one of these to wear around every day.

This release and the speedytuesday LE are both super on point, and show that omega is paying attention both to the exploding vintage market, and to their enthusiast community. This isn't a watch for a wall st guy looking for some bling to show off. This is a watch for a hardcore vintage watch guy who loves speedy history and wants the closest thing possible to the unattainable 2915.

They've made exactly the watch I've wanted them to make for years now.

If anyone lives outside Massachusetts I will be more than estatic, er, I mean glad to receive it and hold it until you can pick it up. 😁

I agree that Omega is bang on target in developing the Speedy 60th for us vintage watch nerds. I was so excited, I woke up at 4am today to read about the 1957 Trilogy and ended the day at the OB laying down my deposit.
