(Maybe I'm trying to put to rest the little voice in my ear that says "get the Seamasters 300LE"....)

My best excuse NOT to get the SM300LE this year is to wait for the SM300LE with lollipop second hand.

That will be the day. ::rimshot::

I’ve had the RMLE about 6 weeks now, and never even had the bracelet on, as I felt it overwhelmed the relative simplicity and beauty of it.
Had the 60th Speedmaster for a week and for me, the bracelet complements the sporty Speedy as I think it was intended as in ‘57. The clasp felt bulky for about an hour and now it seems perfectly balanced.
(I’ve ordered a replacement bracelet for the Speedy)
What bracelet did you order for the speedy?

Follow the voice in your ear.
Oh man!....I knew this would be a slippery slope: sell my Sub to get the SMLE, then after a while, my beloved RMLE becomes superflous and I sell that....then regrets kick in....

A slightly better picture showing the matching lume and B&L strap.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for an alternative to the supplied options. It really brings out the vintage look you usually see in CK2914-1 shots.

gotta say, that's a perfect color match!....even better than my Bulang & Sons.

Playing around with some straps at my local OB today and took my ST for a walk (the OB manager wanted to look at it again). Decided to give my Orbis HV (Hour Vision) some new shoes and ended up buying the new dark blue strap which they have put on the new Metas version of the same watch...I loved the end result the HV now has a modern / funky look and I can confirm that, yes it still scratches my "blue dial" itch😀...will try to post some additional photos when I get a chance.

Also had a closer look at the Railmaster LE...oh dear...on the dark leather strap it really does start to become irresistible. Compared the RM to a modern Seamaster 300MC...very different watches so if I do purchase a RM LE, no conflict in my collection.

Starting to run out of excuses on the RM LE. Pricing in Rio though still seems crazy, USD1K more expensive than my ST?? The OB manager also found this strange and promised to investigate with HQ.

The only thing I really did not like was the clasp on the RM LE bracelet....I know it is hidden under your wrist when you wear the watch, but it looks monstrous and completely out of scale with the case / dial. On leather though...the RM LE is gorgeous, simply gorgeous. Congrats to all the RM LE owners out there...you own a real beauty!

Have been lurking for a while but posting for the first time as my SMLE arrived a few days ago.
I'm not luxury watch addict, or a vintage watch nerd, but I've gone through countless watches in my life, mostly cheap big box store pieces that got the job done...LumiNox, Swiss Army, nothing more than a few hundred $.
But I wanted a watch that would stand the test of time (mechanically and style wise) and compliment a personality that appreciates a sense of class without being gaudy or showy.
I went with the versatility of the SM as I feel it can be dressed up or down quite easily, and it's much more subtle features compared to say a Rolex sub. The RMLE was a close second, and the speedy while classic was just unnecessary (not like i'll be diving any time soon but likely sooner than racing or flying to the moon). For me a 2 watch collection is something clean, simple and vintage-appearing like the SMLE, and a subdued yet still classy military-style watch [ideally a PP 5320G (https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/patek-philippe-5320g-perpetual-calendar-introducing ) or RGM Corps of Engineers watch ( http://www.rgmwatches.com/watches#/151coe/ )...my Shinola Filson Mackinaw will have to do for now]. {I love the original Smiths Deluxe style that Hillary wore to Everest}

The 39mm feels absolutely perfect on the wrist, nothing like the bulk of many >43mm divers, and while it's a tad thicker than a Rolex sub, it wears small. The band is not too large, IMO, though I acknowledge the discussion points to the contrary in prior posts. Haven't yet tried the leather or NATO bands, will probably wait until an outdoor excursion for that.
Extremely happy with the purchase (ordered back in May, surprised it actually arrived so soon...though it would be well into November before arriving) and look forward to putting it on every day.
Cheers!

So now that the pieces have been delivered for a while. How many have changed watches from what you wanted initially; SM300 to RM; RM to SM300; SM to SM300?

I haven’t thought to buy a single piece of the trilogy, but acquired a RMLE by accident recently. Now I’m so satisfied that I consider to sell my Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial and buy a SMLE. 😎
