The RM crystal is just awesome!

Geez, I forgot to mention about that one! That crystal when viewed from an angle is like a whirlpool that sucks you right into the middle of the dial. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

While I like the look of the Trilogy bracelet and the 3-click micro-adjust is proving to be more useful than expected, it is sadly still not up to Rolex build quality IMHO.

I'll give the Trilogy bracelet a score of 8/10 and give the modern non-Glidelock Rolexes a 9/10. It's a great effort from Omega (from whatever country it came from since I couldn't find any "Swiss Made" marking on the bracelet and clasp).

My RM is still in daily use, since August. Let’s see if it can finally match the Honeymoon period of my Globemaster.

Hahaha... You're putting your loyalty to the test, eh?

Indeed it is. It's a shame that only a few Rolex models have the Glidelock system; and for those that have it, those particular models happen to have big ugly lugs. 😀

Actually, I saw a post once that shows that the Glidelock bracelet from the 116610 can be natively fitted to the 16610, so it is possible to get the it on a slimmer case. Of course, then you miss out on the ceramic bezel - it’s shiny, but oh so scratch resistant.

Second day wearing this, fits nicely on 6.7 inch wrist. Love to wear this everyday but worrying about scratching that shiny lug and case when putting wrist on table

I’ve had the RMLE about 6 weeks now, and never even had the bracelet on, as I felt it overwhelmed the relative simplicity and beauty of it.
Had the 60th Speedmaster for a week and for me, the bracelet complements the sporty Speedy as I think it was intended as in ‘57. The clasp felt bulky for about an hour and now it seems perfectly balanced.
(I’ve ordered a replacement bracelet for the Speedy)

Beautiful, I thought the same thing. They say the first scratch is the hardest!
There are some 60 yr old original ones floating around in great condition so I’m sure in 60 yrs ours will look as good if not better

I rate a watch in its entirety. The RMLE is a beautiful watch. The 116610 is the doped version of the 16610 with fat lugs and a great bracelet. The Deepsea is a 44mm behemoth with skinny bracelet (even the Glidelock couldn't save the look).

As for the 16610, I'd skip the idea of replacing the original flimsy bracelet with a modern one. It will lose its vintage appeal. 😀

The more I see pics of the RMLE, the more I’m inclined to pick one up... patiently waiting for my Speedy 60th!

Great pic!

I had to part with my RMLE for a few weeks after handling it for only 10 minutes or so, but finally got it back yesterday.

I wore it with the bracelet during the day. It's nice, but I felt it made the dial look a bit smaller and the whole thing is just a bit too shiny for my liking (and I wear mostly short sleeves at work, so there's no hiding it). This evening I worked out how to remove the bracelet and swapped it for the Bas & Lokes strap I had bought months ago while waiting for the watch to arrive. What a stunner! The picture doesn't do it full justice, but the strap matches the lume really closely - I'll have to try again in daylight. Now I'm truly in love with the watch 😀

I got the "Jensen" natural leather strap. Just after I ordered they launched the vintage line, which I thought I'd prefer, but now that I have it on the watch I quite like the clean look. It'll get vintage with time, I just need to be patient.

Each to their own - it’s a wonderful world, isn’t it!

The relatively big clasp gives the bracelet its sporty character. A smaller and dressier one would have ruined the look of the Trilogy, IMHO.

So THAT's what's wrong with the vintage model this one is a reproduction of! The clasp is too small!

I’ll take the new bracelet and adjustable clasp over the old ones.

One question for the Seamaster owners:
Do you feel that it is practical enough as a true diver with the BI-directional bezel countdown bezel? I do think there is some merit in the functionality of a UNI-directional bezel when it comes to diving or similar critical timing applications.
(Maybe I'm trying to put to rest the little voice in my ear that says "get the Seamasters 300LE"....)

It's about 30 years dive computers made dive watches obsolete, my first Aladin is almost that old. So uni or bidirectionnal bezel is not an issue.

Never put your trust in computers. In the event of an EMP attack from replicants, all high tech equipment will cease to function. But thanks to the all-mechanical and amagnetic (>15,000 Gauss) properties of the SM300LE, you can still enjoy your dive relying on the bidirectional bezel.

How’s that for a VALID excuse to get the SM300LE? Lol

Cheers!
