Agreed... I actually traded up to the LE because it fit my wrist better. And, although I don't buy solely because of future value, I know the LE will retain value (or grow).

The choice depends on what you already have. I didn't go for the SM300 and Speedmaster 60th since I already have a PO diver and a Speedy Pro. I'd want to avoid redundancy in my collection. Still, I would be very tempted if Omega releases a re-issue of the CK2913-7 with lollipop hand in the future. I'd have a VALID excuse to get one!

For now, the RMLE is my favorite Omega. This thing is so damn pretty with no distracting elements at all.

Let’s launch the 1st official Railmaster LE fan club! :D It’s been a long time that I was so enthusiastic about a watch. The RMLE is fabulous, stunning, outstanding, something new. With its unusual size and appearance it’s surprisingly fresh and exotic.

It's truly fresh and exotic. It has no rotating bezel, no applied indices, no fancy subdials, no ceramic nonsense, no twisted lugs and no crown guards, and yet it manages to mesmerize its wearer. Less is more for the RMLE.

A fan club? I think it deserves a religion of its own. :D  ::rimshot::

My feelings exactly. An almost perfect sum up. Almost because you forgot to include “no superfluous dial text: no Master-this or Chronometer-that cluttering up the dial”. Oh and of course no “Trilogy 0000”.

Maybe that explains why the OBs serve you Sekt when you buy one.

I offer my most humble self as sect leader. Unlike other strange sects I will not require you to give me all of your personal wealth, you get to keep your RMLEs.

Yes Master, let us hold up the light and spread the splendor and beauty of the RMLE into the world. Make all Rolex owners put their Explorers aside and follow the magic of the RMLE. There can only be one! :D

Heresy! What company in her right mind would even think of defiling the purity of the RMLE dial? :whipped:

I thought the 007 LE had a lollipop seconds hand.

As some of you, I was very keen on these '57 trilogy watches but less positive about the bracelet. Therefore, I have looked in one of my drawers in order to see what could be the alternative straps or bracelets.

I wanted to share with you my latest tries.

Here is the speedmaster with a vintage flat link omega bracelet (from the late 60s)

And here is the Seamaster with a tropic, as such straps were also offered by Omega later with the Seamaster 300.

Actually, I've grown to like the bracelet, although I'm finding it a bit of trial error to get the number and positions of the links right. I still think the clasp is a little too thick and wide, but it is acceptable. That said, the adjustment method isn’t anywhere near as good as the Rolex adjustable clasp.

Is it easy enough for a clueless owner to pull links out of that bracelet?

I too have grown to love it as well. At first, my biggest complaint was the lack of taper (even when compared to an original 1957 counterpart bracelet), but it in turn provides a beefy and solid clasp. I've always loved the double push button clasp, and the micro-adjust is ingenious (my first time with one from any brand). And I find that the clasp is much less of a scratch-magnet than I thought it would be (as compared to my SM300 (2254.50).

Yes, you just need a small jewellers screwdriver, a pin, good light, good eyesight (or glasses) and a secure work surface so you don't lose small parts. The screws are a bit tight, so take care you don't damage the slot. The screws in this bracelet act like plugs to hold the pins in place rather than screwing into the pins themselves.

It's good to finally to see Rialmaster getting into their owners' hands. Can you post whats in the box that came with the watch. More specifically the staps or nato that came with. That would be much appreciated.

A beautiful but oversized vintage-style leatherbox, a black leather pouch which contains a NATO which fits perfectly to the RM and a black leather strap (19/16). Not too bad...
