Say hello to #100

Is that a scratch on the hesalite and bezel already?

Nah, just kidding. Congratulations. Now that I'm starting to see owners' photos I'm looking forward to getting mine.

They also added some nice touches over the current 300 such as a slightly darker brown lume that matches the supplied leather strap.

Very nice watch, but not everyone prefers the darker brown lume over the current 300. 😀

Indeed some consider it a contrived feature. Phrases like 'faux-aged' have been bandied about for the beige tritium-look lume but I must admit I am warming towards it.

The brown lume color is what first attracted me to the vintage pieces and I'm so glad for the faux-patina on the reissues...definitely a bonus for me. I really enjoy the color contrast that allows it go nicely with caramel leather straps and khaki colored NATO's...

I was concerned about the faux patina, but in person, it changes in light in a neat way. Doesn’t feel contrived.

I agree, but I have now noticed how comparatively little there is on the Speedmaster as the indices are so much smaller than on the Seamaster and Railmaster. I'm glad about that too.

Oh and fantastic watch sorry!!
The brown suede is B and R bands from New York.
They both wear well, the B and R is thicker than it looks but matches the beautiful ‘moldy’ lume nicely.
The Jones matches the Omega strap, that alas is to small, I must wait til end of production for a long OEM Omega strap in black.

A practical question: I got my watch and it's very cool, but I wanted to swap the metal bracelet for something else. But for the life of me, I can't get it out. I'm using the tool provided and can pull the spring bar back enough to see it's out of the hole, but then can't move the bracelet base at all, so it just pops right back in when I try to move on to the other side.

This is my first nice watch, and the first time I'm going this, so I'm worried about scratching the whole thing. I tried watching some YT videos, but nothing proved very helpful. Any tips? In which direction should I pull/push the bracelet once the first side of the spring bar is removed? Perpendicular to the case? Parallel?

Thanks!

Yes, this can be tricky.....slow down, breathe and take your time. What I do is gently pull the bracelet in a diagonally outward direction as I release the first spring bar end. You'll have to continue pulling gently as you make your way around to the opposite end to undo that side. Yeah, if you let go, the first spring bar end will click back into the hole.
But if you continue pulling GENTLY as you release the second spring, you'll then be able to release the entire bracelet end for the lugs. Be assured, with practice, you'll master it. I have to say, the Omega Springbar tool is very nice and high quality!...."where have you been all my life!?"

I was between the RM and the Milgauss. Glad I went with the RM...
Safe to say a lot of us here agree you made the right choice. 👍

There is also another thread discussing the RM vs the Rolex Explorer. I actually see space for both (RM and Milgauss or Explorer) in any collection...the RM for me has a very vintage vibe and looks much better on a leather strap. The current Milgauss and Explorer models are modern SS sports watches and look best on their bracelets. I see more of a clash between owning a Seamster 300MC and a Railmaster as the indices, 3, 6, 9 dial, fauxtina share similar design elements.
