Omega 168.005 Constellation. Should I buy it?

Hi everyone.

Apologies for the bad photos. It's all the seller was able to give me .

I assume this is a Omega Constellation 168.005 Arrow Head.

From what I can see. The dial seems to be in good shape. Crystal is toasted but that can be replaced. Watch would need a service .

Crown and bracelet is wrong (deal-breaker?)

Seller wants 500 USD$ for it. Worth the gamble or run?

The photos are suspiciously poor with the hands blocking the printing, but even with the awful photos, the dial looks wonky to me. I wouldn't buy it based on those photos unless you need some parts. I suspect that almost nothing is good about this watch. If he would take $100 for it, maybe it's worth a shot.

Surely it's harder to take photos that far out of focus than it is to take a decent snap these days. Sellers have to do better than that.

IMO redial. Let it passes
Is it because the star underneath "Constellation" is missing?

It is a 14393, not 168.005. Dial has been repainted and hands are too long.
Only good things are those arrowhead markers which can be removed then transplant onto a 168.005 dial that has black painted hour markers.

Perhaps earlier than a 14393 with that movt and spring bar holes in the lugs? 😉

The dial is a mess - it could even be a fake or at least made up dial as it’s missing the star.

I’d recommend you save your money and put it towards a decent watch.
