Is this Rolex 2508 a redial and should I buy it?

Hello everyone, I found this 1930s Rolex 2508 chronograph listed for sale for about 12.000 usd in my country (price shouldn’t be a source for concern since vintage watches here in Chile tend to be a lot cheaper) though I’m not quite sure if it’s really above or at market value. I’m tempted to buy the watch, but I’m not quite sure if it’s in all original condition or if it’s had a redial, because it does look a bit, well, underwhelming in the dial print quality. I’d like to know if you think it’s a watch worth buying or should I steer clear from this one. Thank you very much for your help!!

The photos really aren't adequate to judge the dial, although I certainly understand why you are suspicious. Also, it has been a while since I've studied these, but I remember taking a deep dive at one time and finding that many of the movements had been replaced with a generic Valjoux 22 and a modified bridge engraving. So these really require careful study.

TBH, that price seems far too low for the watch to be legit, and in your place I'd really want to know more about the seller and how he acquired the watch, etc. This is a reference that I'd probably only want to buy from a very knowledgeable seller/dealer/auction or the original owner's family.

I was a Rolex technician in Venezuela for 20 years. I had to keep some of these time. Based on my experience everything looks original. There were light numbers, and no light numbers. This one's fine, since the pointer don't have. The numbers are painted. In my opinion, the watch must have been careful, or it's been saved. I've seen dials like this before. It's a nice original .

I had to do some additional google searches to see what was going on here. Looks like Rolexo also created a reddit profile to respond to the poster on that site? Maybe he has a vested interest in the dial being original.
