Old Speedmaster dials with new, aged lum?

I looked for a thread re this issue but found none. If there is another thread like this, my apologies. Maybe they can be merged. I've been away from watches as I am like to do for a few years at a time, so I am out of touch with many recent developments. I was beginning to be concerned a few years ago with the number of vintage Speedmasters that I was seeing with lum that was just too perfect on the indices and often the hands. You all know what I'm talking about. Now, I am sure the problem is worse. There were 2 or 3 very good artisans 10 yrs ago, but I suspect now there are more than a dozen doing nice work. On the one hand, they can make an ugly dial look very nice for not a lot of money. On the other hand, of course, there is the issue of originality vs restoration. My question is: Are there re lum jobs good enough to pass for original work? Has this become an issue of concern with regard to values, etc? I expected the same problem with the DON bezels 10 yrs ago. Someone has to be making perfect copies now. What have I missed in recent years with regard to both of these issues?

A lume/dial-restoration job, if done by a specialist, is difficult to distinguish from a
dial in original condition nowadays.

Just my two cents.
