Hi all,

I was just wondering if somebody knows the past listing prices of the speedmaster moon watch (e.g. In 1961 its listing price was XXX, in 1970 was YYY, etc).
I would be interested in building a graph with all the past prices to see how the price evolved during time.

Thanks!

I did not have too much time to do research but this is what looks like the chart.
In black we have the listing price evolution, in red we have the adjustment to inflation.

Oo god, i never knew that the prices of watches rised so much !
Much more than the inflation :
Omega Speedmaster $250 in 1977 is equivalent to $1037 today ! in term of inflation.
I don't know if it is right in term of "purchasing power" ...

Particular examples of sports and tool watches from all the quality manufacturers have rocketed in price over the last decade and show no sign of slowing down.
Unfortunately, this seems to be driven by investment potential rather than actual love of watches.
Sadly, this means that the true 'collector' is no longer able to buy his (or hers) dream watch.

Interesting, I really interested to see where this goes. I will say, this makes me regret all the money I wasted in my youth (late 90's and early 00's) on sneakers and clothes when I could've bought some really nice watches.

If only we could see into the future !
But, then I guess the rush on watches would just start earlier.
