Great article! Very interesting and informative. But it started getting me worried again about getting parts for my watch as I plan to wear it till it’s time for me to exit and I hope to still have a while longer here.

Thanks for posting! I am working on restoring my 1970 Speedmaster that was serviced by Omega and this is definitely interesting to ponder.

@oddboy - Just saw the "Looks kind of like a paperclip, doesn't it?" at the end - is that an inside joke referring to that former member who actually used a paperclip in that part's place?

it is a reference to that, though i found out from Al while writing this piece that the part I posted a pic of is not the same one that was paperclipped in that situation...

.... @ulackfocus, is that a term we can add to the OF Lexicon? "paperclipped"?

It's certainly a word that long time members will associate with that Speedmaster fiasco. 😉
