Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s usually charged from where you live not where you have it shipped.

In the US, it’s based on address the item is being shipped/delivered to. Your home address is irrelevant. If you are picking up in person, it’s the local rate at the pick-up spot.

This is dragging us further off topic, but...

Where you have it shipped does matter, in a way. The actual rule is that if the business you are purchasing from maintains a physical presence in the state you live in, they must charge you the sales tax for your state.

So being in NYC with 8.7% tax, if I buy from a business located in another state that has 0 presence in NY, they do not have to charge me tax.
However, I am still supposed to report it when I do my tax returns (yea right).

Or lets say I live in a state with 5% sales tax, my friend lives in a state with 2% sales tax, and the business I'm buying from has a physical presence in both, then shipping it to my friend would subject me to only 2% sales tax.

A SCOTUS ruling in June 2018 also complicated this a bit more, opening the door to states collecting sales tax regardless of a business's physical presence. This is why some major online businesses just default to collecting taxes all the time now.

Has anybody got the strap/folding clasp from Omega. I like the original strap but the pin/buckle is not to my liking.

What "the" strap/folding clasp in particular? Is there one specific to the Snoopy 3 that isn't the tang buckle? I'm not aware of a factory Snoopy 3 strap with deployant. I asked my OB manager for a similar blue cordura strap to the Snoopy 3, but with deployant rather than tang buckle. Hopefully it arrives, along with the watch, by the of the month per their estimates...

I'm going with these part numbers: https://omegaforums.net/threads/october-5th-2020-snoopy-celebration.112405/page-249#post-2014481

You can get close to matching deployant and strap but not the same thing. You'll need to go with what nismo posted with a blue strap that only tapers to 18mm and get the 18mm deployant. Omega doesn't make a blue cordura strap that tapers to 16mm that fits a deployant.

Got the call and my watch and extra strap/deployant are ready! OB got 3 today, first time more than 2 they've received. Things are moving. I have had no other purchase history with my OB, but I've been in talks with them since before A11 50th and they know me at least that way (not that it helped). Had to pay the new July price...first world problems.

Spoke to my OB and they told me there is a regular and short option for the strap. The product code is for the short one, according to them.

Yeah I think you're right. My OB gave me a different strap and deployant (photos attached with #s). Mine I think is the regular length strap. The deployant I have is all brushed steel, not partially polished which I think the other part # is. Was easier to install when I inserted the new strap and bar toward the lug hole in the direction of the case long axis rather than going from the dial side or caseback approach (short axis of the watch). It is thicker for sure on the ends with the spring bar.

Can someone share photos on how to remove the original strap? I tried searching on the forum without success.

TIA,
Sam

It's removed the same way as other straps. The tool is used to compress the spring bar and then you can swing one end of it out and remove it.

Thanks for the info. Can you let me know the tool so I can order that? Love the GTR.

If you live near an Omega boutique, they'll do it for you for free.

That's good to know. Will they also do that with a 3rd party strap?
That I don't know. I'm guessing they will remove it if you're putting on an Omega branded strap/bracelet but not 100% sure.

I am sure there are several videos on YouTube that walk you through the process. There is nothing unusual about this watch or the strap. I use Bergeon 6767-F spring bar tool to change all my straps. Bracelets are tricky to remove and put on with this tool; you might want to use a bracelet tweezers/pliers for that.
