*These decades

Stanley Cups : 2 - none since the Apollo Program concluded

Oh, that's low. Funny and true, but low. 馃榿

We do have 2 World Series Championships since then though!

This forum is an absolute dictatorship...no one get's elected, there's a boss, there are a few generals and then there's jail and torture...Rumour has it the forum elders also own a soccer team and they torture the players when they loose matches....but it may just be a rumor

Anyway, not a democracy...just a privately owned Forum. Let's not got to the UN council on this.

To the OP you asked about it getting better. Watches break in over the first few months and slow down slightly. Odds are your watch will settle around 2 seconds. At least that is the old wives tail and what people are referencing.

No reason to regulate it at this point, also what the tech most likely meant.

In all my years of owning and repairing watches, I have yet to witness this "break in over the first few months" that is often repeated on forums.

Ok well that clears it up about the break in period not being true.

So let me ask you, why does omega make their watches run intentionally fast ? Thanks

I'm always willing to listen to any well reasoned argument about what causes break in that is reported on forums. I have yet to hear one. Certainly timekeeping may appear to change, but my personal view is that this is due to positional variation and different amounts of time spent in different positions.

Omega makes the watch run fast because although it really makes no sense, people prefer a fast watch to a slow one. People (well most people) would prefer a watch to run +4 or even +6, rather than just one second slow per day.

Interesting. The rep at omega I spoke to claims that the watch is meant to run faster because over time, watches slow down.

Some of us live in free speaking democracies and some of us don't. The "Internet" is not a free speaking democracy. Neither is a bulletin board or forum. It is actually private property, where the owners of each website are allowed and expected to set forth some sort of rules of decorum. Those rules will vary from website to website.

If you think we are oppressive here, please try out any of the dozens of other watch forums on the internet. I think you'll find them a lot less amused by your tone than we are.

However, we all have limits...馃槈

Exactly right, and misunderstood with appalling frequency. Our American concept of constitutionally-guaranteed "freedom of speech" means freedom from governmental restrictions on speech, not private ones. But I don't understand why this thread is continuing on so long. The OP should get it over with and send me his hopelessly defective watch. 馃榾

so good news guys. I found a solution to my bracelet issue as its either too tight or too loose.

upon research I have found that using 2 half links instead of one full link will actually be a little bit tighter and it will fit my wrist better. I called the omega store and the technician has seen it work so I am ordering a half link (37$) and ill report back here but I have a really good feeling about it.

I am going in today to have my movement diagnosed and possibly regulated

glad everything is working out! thanks guys

Not sure who this person is, but next time ask them for a technical explanation for this...

Not that I have a technical explanation but that is the same I was told by the tech at the Omega Boutique in NYC. Basically he said a brand new watch may run faster and with use it finds it's spot. After that it stays pretty steady until it may start loosing time when it needs service.

I never asked for a more technical explanation as it made some sort of mechanical sense to me at the time, but what do I know really.

Anyway, that's my experience.

Thanks, but not exactly the information I was asking for. I have no idea what a "rep" is...

I'm fascinated by this "research". Was it this post from back on the first page of this thread, where @dsio said exactly the same thing?
