I doubt that the moron would even have the mental ability to remember anything even if he had been taught to do that.
The pair of them were bumbling idiots, watching the security cam footage was almost like a comedy.

Close, but not quite. I agree with @Vercingetorix that this is most likely because of the Corolla effect.

We drive on the right side - the opposite of that is the wrong side. You lose!
