One thing that always seems odd to me is that on one hand you have possession of items that have the potential to be used in violent crime and this is punished severely......on the other hand you have actual perpetrators of violent crime getting relatively light punishments by the courts, surely this is inconsistent.

A convoy of farmers chasing our prime minister’s convoy in their tractors. Irrespective of which political party is in power at any given time, the leader of Australia still gets booed at footy games, mocked and ridiculed. It’s one of my favourite parts of being Australian.

Ah good old Ballarat - my wife's home town and where I have spent a lot of time over the years.

By the way, I saw a clip of some other Australian politician threatening to punch a channel 9 reporter in the nose, putting his fist up to his face.

You guys need to chill down there man! 😀

In Australian politics it's always been let the biggest mongrel win, hitting people especially the scum media gives the politician cultural status.

Thats Bob Katter AKA the Mad Katter he's always been a lunatic.........very much like his electorate he represents
His son is also a politician, who resiliently crashed his plane upon landing for the second time........forgot to put down the landing gear again!
They breed 'em a bit different up that way!

I think what your saying is outback and country people will give you the shirt off their back but won’t take any bulls…..
I think old Bob got a bit sick of being labeled as having a lebanese heritage as theyoung journo did. His ancestry on his fathers side may be lebanese but his heritage is all Australian.
As for Robbie .

He lives in Brisbane, not the outback. I always found that notion pretty funny as I’d see him every day having his lunch at this dumpy sandwich shop next door to my office in the CBD and lives in an apartment building one of my mates also lives in. I’m sure he visits the outback occasionally but he’s been here since at least 2009.

I guessing <0.00000000000001% of American women would even have a need to do that...

Off the top of my head, I'm guessing that approximately 0.00000000000001% of American women would be capable of this. 😂

The "yeah, I'd give you a hand, but...." makes me think that man or woman, country ocean or moon, not many would attempt it. Life on the line, we'd all try, sure. Most days, nope.

230 years ago, in September 1795, English naturalist/botanist/explorer James Sowerby (1757-1822) completed the very first book on the flora of Australia "A Specimen of the Botany of New Holland"
An amazing illustrated book comparable to the beautiful work by German polymath Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859)!
