So yea, Brisbane has been flooded into a swamp, again... @Trev has just had to empty his office and move all the computers and equipment to higher ground while he uses a shop-vac as a bilge pump and a 5 foot bullshark washed up in flood waters to the North.

I do a lot of sea kayaking. Not much makes me nervous, but I am very careful in areas with bulls and I carry either a spear gun or a bang stick depending on local laws. They are very territorial, very aggressive and they frequent shallow water. Bad combination.

I am well aware. Have seen them in very shallow water in inlets and tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay and Pamlico Sound in North Carolina.

Holy ####! I got to page 8 out the current 30 and couldn't take anymore. Spiders, snakes, spiders eating snakes, snakes eating spiders eating snakes. Dear god, how do you get out of bed in the morning? I have lived in the Arctic and desert but there is some scary stuff here. I just hope to muster up the courage to read the rest of the thread.

I'd say stay safe, but that seems unlikely and impossible.

Jayzus. It's like watching a horror movie. I don't want to see it but can't look away. Can't believe there's anything left to catch in those waters.

Have a few huntsman that live on the roof. They a regularly seen scampering across the roof to catch insects ( good mosquito catchers )
Living with a entomologist I鈥檓 only allowed to kill cockroaches.

Jacqui's aunt used to live in an old house with very high ceilings, and when we would visit there were always some running around up there...creeped me out, but we aren't used to spider that size here.

My youngest son loves cockatoos and the fact that Australia has them in the wild. They won't kill you, but you could go deaf.

They have beaks like secatures. If your son sees one in a cage, make sure he doesn't put his finger in.

The copper or the fibre optic. ::stirthepot::

Funny as we have never had any damage to wood at our place and our house is mostly wood.

I can't say I like this, but, it's amazing the damage they cause, I've seen pictures from people who own these crazy birds and the damage done to interior moulding inside the home.
