While it is certainly true that not all things in Australia want to kill you, those that do want to kill you are really really good at it.
"Invasive" my ass. This pig is an Aussie. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/09/swigging-pig-hogs-18-beers
Thankfully Koala's don't grow very big and are usually "out of it anyway" ! https://www.news.com.au/technology/...e/news-story/f3eb07602ddb0843dc7184245ff6656c
Australia is certainly on my short list of places to go and with a friend in Sidney, that makes it even easier. We share some things in common too... here’s some friendly local wildlife I recently came across on a backpack trip where I’m from in Alaska.
Was out near the compost bin this arvo and noticed our resident Lizzie. Just basking in the sunlight. And an hour later Annie told me our neighbour had seen a visitor come into our yard. This was the visitor, a 1.2 metre tiger. After the snake wrangler had grabbed it by the tail and bagged it, he asked if anybody wanted a bluetongue. Of course we accepted so now have two (or three) roaming around the place. Meet New Lizzie.
Love the blue tongues, best skink around . On the flip side, Aussie mozzies have now been accused of carrying flesh-eating bacteria https://www.cairnspost.com.au/news/...s/news-story/f0cd801ab4948e76912ad87b8d95bbef
Just saw this little guy on the gutter, he seemed to be eyeballing me, I hope he's not going to go me! Common Name: Welcome Swallow Family: Hirundinidae Scientific Name: Hirundo neoxena
My mind is blown. Wombat poop is cubic! https://www.nationalgeographic.com/...0181119animals-wombatpoop::rid=&sf202622459=1
Wombats make people shit bricks too ... https://www.news.com.au/technology/...d/news-story/8e5613589688d9b43ab16bb71ade698a .. and if you're driving at night in the country and find a big wombat in front of you you'll shit bricks knowing the damage these mobile boulders will do to your car.
And yet another example of the fauna in Australia: Knickers The Giant Steer Has The Internet Saying, 'Holy Cow!'

Baby dinosaur near the walking path between Manly & Shelly Beach in Sydney today. It's a baby because it's only 4 times the length of the kid's forearm. PS: they're actually Australian Water Dragons, grow to about a metre, and won't kill you. If you visit Sydney a trip to Manly is definitely time well spent and you might see some of these friendly locals.
