Swooping season seems to be starting early this year. A couple are building a nest in the gum tree on the edge of the creek backing on to our place.

Time to buy some of these.

Or the cheaper method...

I kid you not. When I was in Malaysia in the late 1970s the government bought in crash helmet laws for motor cycle riders.

I used to see some people using ice cream tubs tied on their head with string as a "crash helmet".

This is the rare and dangerous Drop Lion that frequents Sorrento Western Australia and only seen when a moon is visible.

Law makers. 😲 In their infinite wisdom they might have enacted the helmet law as an anti-littering measure to prevent dispersion of brain matter when skulls shatter on concrete. An ice cream tub should work for that. 😉

Heat wave?

We only call it a heat wave when the temp is over 40°C for more than four days.

It's only the wimps in Sydney and Canberra complaining about the heat.

😉

Our current forecast is incredibly mild - we wouldn't normally be seeing temps this chilly till October. Typically we get 45-47 C pretty consistently in July and August, but this year has been significantly different.

*sigh* I didn't happen to notice that the post I quoted was from 2017...

It's actually factual evidence of Global Warming.

Just spent 3 nights sleeping in a tinnie ( boat ) on the Daly river NT with a mate from Melbourne. Never seen a bloke so white when I pulled up on a beach and told him it was ok to go to the toilet as we had scared the crocs away.

Make sure you watch the video below

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-06-...codiles-sunbaking-on-daly-river-in-nt/9869378

I just watched the video Andy.

I suddenly realised that you and your mate are quite brave, or quite mad, or both!

Even if your tinnie does have a 1.5 metre freeboard (or more).

Magpies can be just as dangerus as crocs mate. And crocs can't even fly!
