Non Tachymètre Speedmaster Bezels: Are There Any Out There?

I bought a 145.022 Speedy for $1200 ten years ago. It was an amazing deal, but a fixer-upper with a very ragged bezel. I decided to replace it (keeping the original bezel in my parts bin, of course), and the watchmaker that ordered the bezel asked if I wanted any of the scales OP mentioned. I went with the standard tachymeter, but it sounded pretty easy to order an alternate type, at least for my 145.022.

Does anyone know the advantages of the alternate scales? Are they sport/occupation specific? And what are pulsations?

Not that I would ever actually use it for it's intended purpose but I would love to have the pulsation bezel for a cool touch working in the medical field. May have to look into it.

Great idea. Would really be a tool watch then!

It appears you may be referring to the tachymeter bezels not fitting certain cases - I've posted about this a few times over the years. Note that there are some cases that replacement bezels and case backs may not fit, so yes if you have one of those cases and need a replacement, you will get a deal on a complete replacement case.

Not really a new policy (first draft I have on file for this is from 2011), just the reality of parts that don't quite fit properly, and Omega not charging you for a whole new case.

Last info from My Omega Man
They Omega ask to add 1400 euro and old case with bezel send back,
Topic was 145.022-69 Straight Writing ,bezel was worn but 145.022-69 is waluable reference
One of first Straight Writing
Wee didnt take order

Thats nothing to do with any new policy or bezel compatibility - it was just a worn out case they wanted to replace.

So for the July 2024 MoonSwatch they can come up with a pulsometer bezel. How hard can it be to offer the option of a "60 minutes" or "Pulsometer" bezel as an extra in the large Omega Speedmaster box... at today's prices?

Nice. May I ask which reference this is? I'm also curious about the case back as it doesn't have any inscription on it.
The not often seen "No Nasa" caseback of the 145.022-71.

It's the real deal from my understanding. Examined and certified, etc. Serial # in line and all else as well. With the Doctor Bezel, I would think even more unique?

Definitely.

So what's the story? I love a good story.

How'd you find it? Were you looking or did it come to you? Did you know what is was right away or did you find out after you got it that you had an unusual watch, both the bezel and caseback?

Do you know where it was originally sold? Was it originally purchased by a doctor?
