    Hi guys
Perhaps this is a dumb question but:

I have an omega smp cal. 8800. Is it normal to hear the rotor when carefully shaking the watch and holding it close to my ear?

Well in general I would answer "yes it is". However a more accurate answer would be "it depends".

If you're hearing a smooth "rolling" sound of the rotor axle or the ball bearing of it then yes.

However if you have noticed that the sound has changed rapidly and it is noticeable even when not close to your year or that the sound is scrapy or rough, then I would say that it is not normal.

This one uses ceramic ball bearings, which are most definitely more noisy than either steel bearings, or a plain bearing.

    Cheers, Al
