I didn't know you could see the Omega logo on Hesalite crystals, honestly you learn something new everyday!

You can't see it at all unless you angle the watch and look closely?
Yup, you need pretty good eyes to spot it. And it's positioned directly at center, so if you're looking straight down, you'd never notice it.

Sorry for the quality (both watches have the stickers still in place) but here you can see the logo

Quality is excellent indeed! It depends on what the photo wants to show or focus your attention.

You’ve achieved that with exemplary clarity in both pictures.

Thank you. Taken with a Samsung Galaxy S7, freehand.

I do like the blurring at the bottom of the ST1 which is the curvature of the hesalite

You are too humble. To achieve this with a Samsung S7 is a feat by itself.

Your logos both appear to be oriented properly! My tintin logo is upside down. Doesn’t bother me, but yours look good!

Thanks. I put it down to low self esteem and hallucinogenic drugs 😉

I see that they still can’t put them on straight 😗

Indeed what I was thinking, but it might be hard when securing the crystal. I also always wondered why the can't put the caseback in normally, but that's really impossible after talking to various engineers 😀
ps.: My crystal has the little logo. It's on the inside of the crystal so it might he hard to see for some people?

Hi all, kind of old post this thread but nevertheless about a intriguing subject. I have my first Speedmaster (2017) now for only 5 days and I already love it to bits! During the proces of buying this watch I looked at several websites and fora how to determine if the speedy I’m looking at is the real deal or a fake... imagine pushing your money down a paper shredder ... brrr
Anyways I found many tips what to look for. Good.... but.... none of the tips included looking for the logo in the hesalite.., whereas I think it’s a rather hard to copy feature and rather easy to check.
So I learned about this neat little thingy only after the purchase.
Ok now for the nerd part! I’ve seen quite some nice pictures of the logo, some better than others and I tried it myself but it’s quite hard with a simple phone camera and for sure my camera pics are not better than the ones already out there. But... now I happen to have a decent stereo microscope. So I hope you like the picture I was able to make at a 80x magnification.

Any watch can be real but have a generic crystal that doesn’t have a Omega Logo. Crystals are a common changed item.

Good to have a Omega Hesalite crystal but not a flag for a fake watch.

Sounds fair... would the other way around be true then? When the omega logo is there, chances are close to high you dealing with a original? Ever encountered a fake watch with such logo?

This Tissot isn't fake, the watchmaker probably just had this Omega crustal handy.

Omega is not concerned with the orientation of the symbol, but of the line in the tension ring - they want that line towards the bottom of the dial so it's less visible. So they are paying attention to the orientation, but just not the orientation of the symbol.

@Archer When you say that the break in the tension ring should be at the bottom do you mean that it should be at six o’clock or can it be between a range like 4 and 8? Or 5 and 7? I’m having my crystal replaced and want to check that it’s done per Omega specs.

Crude seems a little strong?
Amazing how you were able to capture the Omega symbol etched into the crystal in a photo.
It isn’t always that easy to find... you have to shine the light just right.
