Nivada Grenchen Relaunching?

After a week on the wrist, I can safely say I freaking love this watch. I usually change my watch every 2 - 3 days, and it's rare, even with a brand new watch, that I have no desire to rotate to a new one after a week.

Design-wise, I don't have any complaints about this watch, and I think the execution is excellent.

I went with the fauxtina version, and while I'm glad I did, I think the white lume dial looks just as good. I do think the fauxtina adds a bit of legibility on such a busy dial. In good lighting, I don't have any issues reading the dial / subdials, but it is a bit difficult in low lighting, especially if my eyes are fatigued from staring at screens all day.

My watch has lost less than 10 seconds in the week I've been wearing it, which is awesome. Overall, I'm really glad I decided to pre-order this release. I've only dug into the Chronomaster Only book a little bit so far, but it is very impressive so far and was great to get that as a bonus.

Just placed an order for the Aviator Sea Diver manual wind on BoR. Wanted vintage feel with the robustness of a modern watch so I don't have to baby it.

Any additional feedback from those who have purchased them?

I really like this freaking watch. That’s the only additional feedback I have at this point. It’s been getting lots of wrist time.

Enjoy it and wear in good health!

Happy to hear!! Thanks for the photo, looking forward to it's arrival and giving it some bumps and bruises.

I saw this on Instagram today, and couldn't find a thread about it on here. It looks like Nivada Grenchen is relaunching this year? I don't know a ton about this brand, but a Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver is on my long term wish list.

Here is the website: https://nivadagrenchenofficial.com/

What do people know or think about this?

They posted a couple 3D designs on their Instagram stories:

It looks very thick

It looks very thick

13.8 mm for the manual wind, and i think 14.8 for the automatic version.

Can you find a 'Paul Newman' dialed chronomaster? Can't say I have seen any for sale...

It’s clear they exist, however can’t say I have seen/noticed a single one for sale in the last 2/3/4 years (but there surely were some somewhere...and I wonder at what price)...

I think the whole Val 23 reissue idea is fun, and with 50 pieces it's more of a hardcore-Nivada-nerd-only edition done for the fun of it rather than something they're trying to make a business of. And remember not everyone wants to go hunting for a rarer vintage watch that may not show up in wearable condition... I personally would not have bought this one but it's cool to see.

Not quite- devil is in the details

besides the differences in the hands and markers, the “Newman Daytona” is about the Singer font

And the one on eBay is just a regular font

People attribute that font to just Rolex- but it was a Singer thing, I’ve seen a few chrono’s with it....very few

The 2 most recent Paul Newman sold I can find on the Internet are
  1. this one: £4500 + 20% buyer premium. So £5400 / 6350€ / $7500. and It was 2 years ago
  2. one bought by @erpin9 very recently: price not disclosed, but not asked either 😀
4500€ for the reedition seems reasonable to me; knowing it indeed targets a few hardcore Nivada fans

Coming back to the "regular" reedition, it looks nice but I will pass... I like my vintage one too much to get its grandaughter 😁

I am surprised no one talked yet about the Depthmaster. Iconic watch, awesome reedition, and fair price! I missed the preorder phase...🙁 Otherwise, I would have pulled the trigger!

Love the look on bracelets. Wondering if anyone has tried these on the extensible oyster bracelet.
What was resizing like and how comfortable is it on the writs?

It's funny, people always poo-poo the cushion case version but the dial should be the main attraction. And you can find them for sub $1,000. I bought this one for $275:

I will happily pay you $300 for it so you can make a profit 😉
