11.5 m doesn't seem very thick. It's a few mm thinner than the bulky Planet Oceans.

11.5mm is for the Antarctic, not the Chronomaster. And in any case, the proportions of the case matter more when it comes to how a watch wears on the wrist.

It is so nice, when you have found a niche in the field of your interest (watches).
Something you really need to dive deep into to get information (hunting for information is for some as much fun as to get the actual watch).
Something you can really find everywhere for good prices. (with a good eye)(even on fleamarkets!)
Then comes a book (which I love ;-) to bring all information together and puts the theme to another level (everything-wise).
And now the relaunch of the company …
… I really don’t know.
Let’s see what happens.
(And in between there was a great article about the Antarctic on: https://wornandwound.com/affordable-vintage-croton-nivada-grenchen-antarctic/)

Well, it seems as though they've already updated the 3D model for the Chronomaster. No shots showing the thickness, but the proportions from the front do look much better than before. They've also rethought the leather strap and are now offering a more "correct" tropic strap.

To be honest, I think that even if the company releases a virtually identical reissue of the original Chronomaster, when the modern version is priced at 1600 euros, most will probably choose to purchase a vintage original, which can usually be bought for around 2/3rds of the aforementioned asking price.

They also took off the "T" And replaced it with an "L"

But I agree, it's a tough sell when the vintage ones are cheaper than the re-issue (except for the lack of wear and tear). True can be said of other modern take-downs like the new Speedy, but that's a bit of a different genre.

I really wish they would try harder on the Antarctic. There's only a few key design elements that make the watch special, and none of them are present on the renders. (Flat lugs, ice shape indices). And I don't understand why they put "chonometre" on the back if they aren't using a certified movement.

Thanks for your opinion, very appreciated. I would like to see a nice original vintage Chronomaster (I mean early broad arrow references (with either Venus 210 or Valjoux 92) with a price tag of EUR 1.200, what you stated. Please show such watches you own or you know of, thanks again.

The new renderings look much better now. Seems they are open to feedback, which is good!
Thickness is at least 14,25mm because of the movement. 16,2mm for automatic is huuugge!

I am looking forward to see the new beads of rice bracelet.
Wonder if it will be available separately and will fit also the vintage models.

Just got the reply.
The bracelet will be available separately. And it should fit the vintage models.
Looking forward!

"Blending" the NEW beads of rice bracelet to a 60 years old watch? Would it look compatible? Dont think so..

I remember visiting the factory in the 1970s. Actually, it wasnt the factory, I entered through a door on the left where Siegrist was making their amazing Tessina 35mm spy cameras! As I remember it, the winding mechanism was made by Nivada, presumably along with the jeweled bit?

I dont suppose they will be re-starting production of those, will they?

Pre-orders are going live on July 15 with a 15% discount and copy of the Chronomaster Only book numbered to match the number of the watch (for the first 500 customers I think).

Is anyone thinking about pulling the trigger on any of these?

To entice you, here is a video trailer Nivada published featuring a watchmaker handling various watch components without finger cots:
