For sale is a rather nice Nivada Grenchen Chronomaster, Aviator, Sea Diver from the 1960s The unpolished case is 39mm in diameter and wears very well. Lug width is 20mm and it looks fantastic on a variety of straps. The watch will be supplied on the Joseph Bonnie Tropic (pictured) which is, in my opinion, the best reproduction Tropic strap available. The manual wind Valjoux 92 movement was serviced by Guy Jeffrey in August 2022 so is running perfectly and winds smoothly. All functions work as they should, the friction bezel is nice and smooth. The dial, minute and hour hands were relumed by Guy at the time of service. They don’t glow. For what it’s worth, this dial is one of the rarest variants according to the Chronomaster only book. Most other dials have Croton on them. The bottom left hand portion of the dial does exhibit some “patina” in the form of light spotting but this is barely noticeable on wrist and definitely doesn’t detract from the overall look of the watch. Slightly hard to price this one, I see them unserviced but unrelumed on dealer sites for €4000-€4500 so taking into account the recent service and relume, I’ll price this at £2000 including RMSD.
