These look like great watches to me, I really like the style and variety of dials that they have.....
great another watch for me to spend hours reading up on and hunting down! 🙁
I also noticed that most Antartic models have roman numerical system, but last night I found a Antartic 17 on a German sales-platform, it was a ladies watch. There wasn’t any information about but it seems they made more models after nr 10
I also contacted Nivada Grenchen in Switzerland and ask for any information. Regrettably they didn’t have any to give about the vintage Antartic models because it was lost when the company was sold.
”..I regret to inform you that we do not have any documents or records about this beautiful timepiece watch because Jacob Schneider transferred this company to the previous owner and all the records about vintage watches are lost…”
But I will be looking for more information, in the meantime I’m going to have the glass changed but as my watchmaker told me I’m looking too spend more on a glass with a magnifying window (for the date) then I spent on the watch. But I think that will really make a big change. I only polished the glass when I got it
That photo is of another Antartic 10 ladies watch. I didn’t get any photo of the nr 17
Pick this up recently
Arrived this morning - very pleased.
A little staining on the dial but still a great little everyday wear.
That's a neat one. I've never seen this iteration with the c-case and interesting bezel. Nice find!
Good to hear that you're studying/writing about the Antarctic and I wish you success.
In case it's helpful, here at links to posts I've put up on the model:
