路Hello,
Newish member from Finland here introducing himself. I have been lurking on this great forum quite actively for a number of years. I could be called a fairly active collector, since I collect antique maps, books, Finnish knives - and watches.
Omegas have traditionally been a big thing and a highly respected watch brand in Finland. Due to this me and my sisters bought an Omega for my fathers 50th birthday in the late 80鈥檚. Mechanical watches were not a la mode at that time, so we spent for us at the time a fair amount of money on a gold-plated Omega de Ville quartz watch, which I have inherited, maintained and will keep.
My own collection started with a birth-year (1965) gold-plated Seamaster 600 about 20 years ago. Since then I have accumulated a fair size watch collection, maybe focusing a bit too much on quantity. After the first Omega there was a short Seiko period. Since then I have bought a number of Girard-Perregaux, Universal Geneve, Aquastar watches and a couple of Zeniths and Tissots.
My late father owned an old Certina DS. That is probably the main reason I became interested in vintage Certinas. I would say that today I am mostly interested in Omegas and Certinas.
This forum has been and is a great source of information on vintage watches and also great entertainment. Thank you for maintaining but also developing it constinously!
Attached are most of my vintage Omegas, a couple of Certinas and a Tissot Antimagnetique
