New upcoming UG Polerouter?

Is it just me or do other people think they butchered the twisted lugs design in favor of thicker case. The lugs on my vintage polarouter have a twisted crease that goes from the inside of the lug to the outer diameter of the watch. But the new design seems to be missing that. I don't know why this decision was made since there are other (compax) models in the vintage lineup with the same design but bigger case diameter.

Agreed, these lugs are just as iconic as the other distinct features. Not every polerouter sports them but its long been a popular draw for the models that do. They went so all-out on dials, movements, and materials but somehow moved past that beautiful architecture, why?

I thought there was something that seemed “off” or “soft” about the case! Nice eye! It’s like how the lugs on the new Observatory look like they were bent in - Likely a consequence of the upsizing.

I'm pretty impressed with the new releases in terms of the watches themselves. I don't like the pricing, but it's consistent with what they have been saying for a while now, so no surprises there.
the watches themselves are derivative, the price in and of itself isnt the problem in my opinon its the price is a problem when I can go buy a vintage polerouter which is better before 1/3 of the price to get an excellent one

Same with the Compax/ Nina - you can get into an evil nina head only for a little more than they ask

Do you think that its because some of these cases were made by HF who made speedy cases and they want to distinguish themseleves from omega and not look like they are copying the lug design for those who dont know - but also agree with you that the twisted lugs look sooo much better

One comment on the Dink deemed the new designs “ feminine” … That resonated with me. I think however the person and I were reacting to the bling pieces. Seen in this thread , the watches ain’t so. Regardless the pricing is off putting but not a surprise.

Good observation, i think the pastel violet and the denim on the nina re-editions are probably more on the femine side and the polerouters by design not by the size are actually more that side aswell

The white Compax perfectly merges the best elements of the Speedmaster and the Daytona into a beautifully balanced design. If the case ends up thinner than a Daytona, as a micro-rotor could allow, the price may be justified. Definitely on my radar.
