Are we getting a new UG Polerouter model? Got marketing email with the following text,

"A new chapter begins for Le Couturier de la Montre. With a renewed creative vision, the Maison is preparing to unveil collections that blend functional beauty, refined design, and horological mastery. Be among the first to witness this milestone in our story."

Email gives you an option to save the following date to your calender 8th April 2026.

I'm guessing it will be more than that, but I don't have any inside info

My tax bill, sailing beach bill and property tax bills all came due. New car in the budget for 2026. Now the water heater. Consider me fully inoculated against April 8. I’m looking forward to the reveal however.

Cautiously optimistic—Hoping some of the rumors speculating about a $17k price tag are really just rumors.

What are the odds they keep the slim 35mm case? That would be the main draw for me.

It’d be offensive to boast an in-house cal if it can’t match the slender profile of old. The SAS Tributes retained classic sizing, though those also had refurbished micro rotors in them.

I will feel kind of relieved if they don't take a swing at the original no date design

Time to trade vehicles or organs for a "pret a porter" version at CHF14k (Polerouter, no date). A date window is +CHF2k.

Ugh.

Well they've certainly made modern Nivada Grenchen look good by comparison. I mostly see NG derided as a ghost brand, but which has more fidelity to the mid-century expedition tool watch? To me, a new UG in-house movement is not worth screwing with the proportions. If the Arctic Explorer had been given proper water resistance, I would have been all over it.

Not sure what there is to be offended about.

The original bumper movement Polarouters and Polerouters, the ones actually designed by Gerald Genta, were not slender. They got a bit smaller and much slimmer when the microrotors were introduced.

I was afraid that the pricing on the new Polerouters would make the new Omega Observatory look cheap, and I was unfortunately correct. I think these will also be tough sells on the market.

Microrotors are over half a century old, I did have those in mind with that feeling - mentioned them in that same post. I associate a lack of slenderness with skipping out on refinement and effort. Seems backwards to ever get thicker. These new sub-4mm calibers are pleasing from that aspect; plus the three day power and hopefully accuracy to match. Pretty too.

Fully agree on the pricing observation, especially in the context of the new observatory. Not holding my breath to see how they plan to justify their positioning or what stunts they pull to appear haute. Nevertheless, the line they built is gorgeous, it’s just tough to get past that sticker shock.

It's interesting to me that the Compaxes are priced at essentially the same as the new Polerouters (CHF ~15K in steel for both). I suspect the stale, render-like images are not lending the watches any favors.

Feels like this thread is missing some pictures so here they are 😀
14 000 CHF
And the movement :
Date version : 16 000 CHF

Now the compax :
15 500 CHF
17 000 CHF

And the movement:

I really like the compax black dial on steel bracelet personally 😀
Just slightly over my budget though 😬

I'm pretty impressed with the new releases in terms of the watches themselves. I don't like the pricing, but it's consistent with what they have been saying for a while now, so no surprises there.
