For anyone that is interested, here are some pics showing what comes post eBay authentication.

Here is the packaging in which the watch arrived. I have no idea what type of packaging the seller used when the watch was originally shipped, but none of it made it to me. The watch head was protected by packing air bubbles (not pictured). I would think that any factory packaging, or box and papers, would have been included had they been originally included.

A close up of the authentication card. Notice the additional digits in the serial number taken from the customized (personalized?) engraving on the caseback.

Here is eBay's version of the "remove before flight" tag. I can't think of any way that one could get around using the watch without destroying the tag and thus forfeiting any ability to return it......

I think somebody posted that they could just remove the strap from the lugs.

Yes indeed, I think my attempt at humor didn't come across there at all!

Interesting watch, I like the small details like the original crown. Do you know what the 5 figures on the caseback mean?

Thanks yes, it has been fun learning about it even after the "research" phase. I hadn't realized that there are at least two types of crowns for this reference.

I have no idea about the caseback numbers. To me, it doesn't seem that it would be something "personal", but maybe it is. Perhaps a vault password or alarm code? Wife's birthday or special date (26 March 1931)?

Congratulations! Very nice, condition is about perfect: it has some honest wear and tear, but not abused or worn out. It is just right for wearing.

In the spirit of this, I once saw a bumper sticker on a (now classic) Mini Cooper that read "When I grow up, I want to be a Rolls-Royce". Not a knock against the Omega by any means and probably the AP 26331 didn't exist anyway back when this was engraved. Who knows?!
The now classic Mini Cooper is probably worth more than an average condition Rolls Royce of the same year

Sure, depreciation on the Roller and appreciation on the Mini (starting with their original MSRP) will get us to that point, especially if we're talking Cooper/Cooper S or other special model. It's amazing to think that the everyday, "disposable" economy car now could be worth more than the hand-built car with carefully selected luxury materials, but that's how it goes.

Speaking of cars, here's my requisite pic taken in the driver's seat (parked in the driveway of course!!).
