Anyone in Europe had this experience here?
No, my AD is just taking names on a list, they have never taken deposits before delivery is certain. They are only taking the names of existing customers and are not that confident of getting very many allocated.

That's not true... Might have something to do with taking a £7000 deposit on a trilogy box set and guaranteeing it, to only have to take a large bight of humble pie when they couldn't deliver :whipped:

I think nearer to £20,000 as it will be one person making the movement
🤨 Yep and limited to One piece as well!

My local OB offered to put me on a list. Their employee also mentioned they didn't receive any information about the allocation process. But I'm not sure if being on the list is really worth anything 😗

It is but as mentioned above they will prioritise to customers who have purchased from them before. I've got a contact at mine who i've bought two watches from and he has promised to get me their piece

What we infer from above with relation to 50th Anniversary Edition?

OBs taking $5,000 deposits to insure that you will get some unannounced product could be a dangerous game for them. We don't know what will be introduced, the number, price or anything else. Taking $5,000 as a deposit, even if refundable, could be a mess if production isn't enough to satisfy demand.

They don't do that either in UK

Thanks! What’s so special about ST?

The hype fueled by speedy fanboi club was pretty special.

This whole caper depends on how many fools, eh I mean collectors, will pony up silly amounts for said watch. Unknown at this time.

I don’t believe it will be just one person making all the movements, just that each one will be assembled by one individual rather than in an assembly line fashion. I suspect there will be a number of people assembling these watches.

I strongly object using “fools” for us. We may be called lunatics, insane, sick in the head, unhinged, unbalanced, unstable, disturbed, crazy, non compos mentis or hysterical, but NOT fools by any definition.

Personally I'd rather have a controlled deposit process than a free for all keep your eyes peeled on instagram or you might miss your 90 minutes to get this watch scenario. Your on a plane when the onside starts too bad. You were driving when the post was made too bad. Sorry that just is a pain in the ass.

Sure it is an interest free loan but I'd rather do that than pay the markup on missed LEs or low supply pieces.

I'd be happy to see Omega pull out the stops here and do something next level for this anniversary.

I pulled the trigger yesterday and made the interest free loan to Omega (aka, put down the deposit). If the 50th anniversary edition doesn't appeal to me, I can always tell my wife the refund is only in store credit ....
