Omega are becoming like Rolex. More limited runs and waits.
??? Not sure do I understand.
2254.50, PO 8500 already have had the runs dedicated for UK SAS or New Zealand (or Australia?) armies, I think such watches do not qualify as "limited".
Wasn't in reference to just this.
Ed White 321, Snoopy 50, Nekton Edition.... More controlled runs, not necessary limited. Have the same feeling about this one, it might get released to public but perhaps the same way. Who really knows?
So is the "Swiss Army / Not for sale" thing real or rumor?
I have asked my boutique and they confirmed it. You could get it if you are a member of the Army unit it has been built for.
Shame, after my terrible experience with the NTTD I've still more or less decided I'd like a "standard" 300M and this would have been the variant I'd have paid full boutique retail for. Oh well, guess Omega won't be getting my money after all - I'm really not very enthusiastic about the Rolex-like moves they're making lately, taking one step forward towards what the hardcore customers want (no date) and one step back (ugly Nekton bezel; only 50 of these). Definitely not buying a regular black dial 300M at full price.
That Breitling Superocean Outerknown is still calling my name though....
Personally I think there is great variation in the current Seamaster collection, from the regular models to the black ceramic one, etc. I would have suggested you the "Nekton" before I saw you don't like the bezel. I also like no-date and when it comes to divers, the Seamaster 300 would probably be my choice. Anyway, it is a very personal decision in the end. Good luck with your search, too many nice watches out there ; )
